Beat Pros vs. Bose QC15
I have some QC15's and they're great but I want more bass. I am not an audio expert by any means, (I have no idea what hertz, frequncy tolerances, etc. are.) that's why I'm here. I've heard the good, bad, and ugly about the beats so I'm not sure what to believe. Use the poll and tell me what you think! Here's what I want in a headphone:
1. Sound Quality
2. Well balanced blend (with preference to bass)
3. No distortion of sound
4. Durability
5. Comfort
6. Carrying case (I travel often)
If you would like to suggest something besides beats or bose, feel free I am open too anything in the $250-$400 range. Thanks.

Don't get Beats or Bose.
Do you want open or closed cans?

Open cans will let sound flow into and out of the headphones. In short, they lack "isolation". Closed cans are sealed-back, sound won't leak out of them, and not so much sound will get in.
What source is your audio coming from and what amplification do you have? If you don't know these things, you probably don't need, and wouldn't know the difference between, different cans in the $200+ price range.

Well then I would go with closed cans, because I like isolation (hence why I bought the bose). My main source of amplification is through my iPone or iPad. The iTunes files are crappy imo, so I buy CD's and import them into iTunes in "lossless" quality or something to that effect, so that the file is larger, but quality is retained.

Your iPhone/iPad aren't going to do much to push high-impedance monitors. Go do some reading on head-fi.org.

Well then what do you suggest for my devices? I'm not buying an expensive setup to listen to music. While that may be for some people, it ain't for me.

A line-out converter and a decent amp feeding DT770s should fit your needs pretty well.

Also, just fyi, but even with some closed headphones sound will leak out. Like my Audio Technica A700's.

Don't go off the deep-end with head-fi though. That website does a good job getting people sucked into the hobby (which is pretty full of BS, misunderstanding, AWFUL products, etc) and it is very much a FOR PROFIT website. Beware the flavors of the month amps/DACS, since a lot of them are borderline scams that take advantage of the nature of the hobby. I know you aren't looking for that stuff, but you will inevitably run into it on head-fi.
That said, the headphones section is good if you can avoid the hype.
