I'm sorry, I didn't know past events were taken into any of the polls. By that logic, we should hand the #1 ranking to Michigan every year.
No SEC team has done enough this year to earn a spot in the NC game over an undefeated KSU, Notre Dame, or Oregon. None of these teams are a TCU or Boise State or Utah or Houston or Hawaii. They've played a BCS schedule just like everybody else. The SEC is not strong enough this year to earn their conference champion a spot over an undefeated BCS team.
Now, if Alabama was undefeated, or if two of these teams (or hell, if all three) lose a game? I don't think it would be a question at all that they would go. However, Alabama really hasn't done all that much this year. Michigan was a fraud from the beginning, they barely beat a two-loss LSU, and A&M outplayed them pretty much all game.

That two loss LSU is also one of the best teams in the country. An SEC schedule on top of beating LSU in Death Valley is enough to put them ahead of most undefeated teams. If all 3 undefeated teams and Alabama win out, I would definitely put Alabama ahead of ND and Oregon.

first Notre dame has almost lost multiple times to terrible teams they don't deserve to be up there.
If alabama destroys georgia in the sec championship they should leap frog 2 of those teams, they are easily better than all 3.

Now, also, consider this: Oregon has played their starters only once for an entire game, because they're blowing people out. It's not like they're struggling (like ND does) against their ****ty competition. They're not pulling out last-minute comebacks (Florida), or only winning by two points (LSU), against poor teams.

I would be very surprised if Bama leaps anyone. With that being said, I think they would beat the top 3 9 times out of 10. Shouldn't lose though.
