Geo 3 not fully cycling
I had in issue yesterday at NEPL with my Geo.
When I tried to hit 15 BPS, my marker sounded and worked like my tank was low on air. However, I had 4k of air left in my tank. (Has a ninja reg.) So switched over to the etek 3 I had.
Sunday was about 34 degrees F with wind chill factored in. I assumed that my issue was due to dwell or bolt stick. So I cleaned up the lube on both the reg and bolt, and put another, thiner layer on. No luck.
I then attempted to up the dwell. I put it to the max with the same issue.
I then attempted to take the solenoid out, as per the manuel, and cleaned the poppit. I cleaned it all, but I've still experienced the issue.
Does anyone have experience with this issue? The day before I played xball, and encountered no problems with psp 12.5 ramp. I'd like to do whatever I can before I ship it out to PE.
Thank you!

Did you try turning the SFR up or the Solenoid Power up?

The sfr was raised at the tourny. It did alright for a game or two and then he issue came back. I then put the solenoid up to hi power.
And i changed the battery twice. One before sunday, and one
When i was trying to tech the gun.
The battery brand was energy

What's your dwell at? I notice that it's hard to have a low dwell and low SFR setting (especially in cold weather). Might have to bump up both SFR and dwell

With the dwell stock and sfr all the way up ive had no problems in the cold.
Just make sure your not overlubing the marker, as 90% of Geo Platform problems comes from users overlubing.

I was at nepl also and had the same exact issue and so did a member on my team with his geo. There is water in the fields system. Did you bring it to the PE tent? The tech there pulled mine apart and wiped black moisture from the inside of the reg and bolt. I cleaned my gun the night before so I knew it was from that day. Just a thought.

I probably should have done so.
I cleaned the geo3 inside and out, and I'm leaving it in my basement until later today. I'll see if it's still messing up or not.

I am the Planet Eclipse tech at the NEPL - you can always feel free to bring your marker over should you have any problems in the future or at the event.
the majority of troubles with Geo's I experienced this past weekend at the NEPL was: 1) incorrect/wrong size o-rings (famously 15nbr70 where a 14x2nbr70 should be), 2) improper/too much/not enough lubricant 3) SFR set too restrictive 4) board settings too far from factory
...and the occasional dying/soon to be dead battery
I always encourage the players to replace the #17 oring on the inside of the can after an entire event has been played
Nicky T has some great advice for winter play in this forum that will help alot!
...oh yeah, try not to mistake a 15nbr70 with a 15nbr90
good luck!

Be sure you registered your gun at Planet Eclipse HP!
Take it to your lokal planet eclipse tech.
Your "Solenoid Valve" might be the Problem.
Your lokal dealer would fix it for you.
Got the same issue. Increase the Dwell was no solution.
At Dwell 30ms my Geo feel like a jackhammer, and thats no option for me.

More than likely I feel it is something with the solenoid.
I haven't had the chance to shoot my marker yet, but I'm hoping the longer it stays in the cold, the better I can reproduce the issue.
I assume that the correct amount of lube is just enough to cover the gaps between the oring and the metal edges on the bolt?

Thats right! You only need a bit of grease. Fill the gabs you mention and it will be enough.
Another thing is to use a fresh batterie. I heard about issues with breaking in voltage of the batteries! Use only good brand batteries! You can see this by pull the trigger and the screen begin flickering.
Do you have done any maintenance on the solenoid?? Sometimes the solenoid gaskat fits not on right position. When no maintenance done by yourself let it and bring it your lokal tech.

Chris, do you work in a shop anywhere?
I still have the issue, even though I've done everything in the book, used a few brands of batteries, and played in the BP indoors area.
If not, I might just ship the marker back into PE. Anyone knows how that works?

Boston Paintball has some tech's we trainedand certified ourselves - all good guys! I would definately trust them to have a look
I am associated with Planet Eclipse, RI (dont work at a store, sorry), my boss is Gerry Bates (gerry.b@planeteclipse.com), feel free to contact him if you get stuck
the description of your symptoms seemed very typical of the geo's I work on over that weekend. It sounds VERY unlikley that is your solenoid
replacing the #17 on the inside of the can, the 14x2 on the back of the bolt and the 15nbr90 on the middle of the bolt... also, opening up your sfr more (if not, all the way) helps alot. in ways of typical maintenence, I tend to change the 14x2 on the propshaft as well

Thank you Chris! I'll do you advise now and get back you the forum when I can shoot my Geo3.
But do you mean the orings on the can and the bolt, or the prop shaft as well?

all the ones I listed are typical maintenance o-rings, the exception being the 15nbr90 on the middle of the bolt - I have taken out MANY bolts with the wrong size and type oring in it's place, NEVER from the factory, but loads of times after person's 'maintained' their markers prior. It's an easy, honest, and common mistake
the 15nbr90 is the same size as the 15nbr70, but the 90 is more noticbly "firm" to squish
Planet Eclipse makes a good effort to go out of their way to include well labled individual o-ring bags in their spares packaged with each marker to minimize confusion for things like that
considering your situation you should leaves the ones on the outside of the can alone , also, the 13nbr70 on the front of the bolt doesn't usually need to be replaced unless you feel the need to start off with a new one anyway
I am not by any means an oring engineer or specialist, neither are 99.9% of paintball players, so I always giggle a little on the inside when they say "I looked at the orings and they all appear fine" (you,of course, did not say this). the point is, it's the cheapest part of a marker, when in doubt, just replace... it's pennies in the long scheme of things and eliminates MANY possibilities in the realm of trouble-shooting.
I am relatively confident these could resolve your debacle assumming you have replaced your battery with a duracel or energizer alkaline battery (energy paintball batteries are the best!)
good luck
-chris

Alright, thus far, this issue has been popping up for me quite often.
I'm going to attempt one more day of play to see if it was due to weather, lube, or if it really is the gun.
1.) Yes, the high power was the first thing I did.
2.) I have replaced most if not all the orings
3.) This issue is prevalent with duracell, energizer, and berkley batteries.
4.) Dwell at stock, or when raised to the max has no effect.
5.) When I shoot the sfr up all the way, it stops it for a little bit. It comes back later on.
Any other GEO 3 owners have an issue? If it makes a difference, I was one of the first few to receive the Geo3?

Sounds like the same problem I had with mine and sort of still do I can't shoot with the SFR closed anymore and use to do it fine before. All I could do was replace everything inside internally, I reset to stock settings set my psp to 12.5 and solenoid to medium and SFR almost completely open and it shoots just fine now. I still have found no answer to my problem your best bet is send it to the PE techs and have them fix it it's what I'm doing.

I actually drove up to PE HQ, and found that I overlubed the marker, and shot the SFR waaaaay to low for cold weather situations.
I'll probably play this weekend, so we'll see how everything goes!
