I have tons of orings for my dm9. Many of them will probably never get used but i would hate to have to throw them away because they got too old. So my question is, do orings eventually dry rot away? If so, does a light coat of dow33 (or any lube) help them last longer? Thanks

everything gets old but a ziplock bag with a couple drops of paintball oil or few smears of grease, lightly, in the bag should keep them fine.

Don't put oil in the bag. Oil tends to actually ruin orings after a long time. Buna are less likely to be ruined by oil, but Urethane orings definitely absorb the oil and lose elasticity.

Just leaving them in a box or a bag, out of direct sunlight and out of crazy extreme temperatures is more then sufficient. You'll probably lose the orings before they go bad.

^ haha alright thanks. What about a couple dabs of silicon grease? would that do any harm and or good?

Wouldn't hurt them, dunno if it'd really help them. Could cause more problems later if you then go to put that oring on some firing assembly part and the silicone grease doesn't wipe off completely. Silicone based greases typically aren't as slick as dow33. You'd also likely have a hard time wiping the grease off of an oring.
