Even less paintball for Fairbanks
My buddy spoke to the manager at Sports Authority about possibly getting more CO2 (almost every time we go they're out) and he was told that after this summer they are going to stop catering to the PB community altogether, so no more paintball section in the store and no more CO2.
Yay....not

How about this go to something something adventures [forget the name] close to North Pole and buy a scuba tank. Go to fire department store and buy a fill station. Order a HPA tank that is more efficient and you are set.

Yep...I guess I could spend 5 times more than my entire marker setup and get about three or four good 3000psi fills to power our groups' spyders, but that's not practical nor economical.
If we had a real field or some reason to drop the cash for higher end markers etc. I'd think about it, but it's not worth it here. About the only thing I miss about AZ was the free city field.

Is there no more paitnball gear at the fire and safety place? Used to be they had a lot better stuff than most places in fairbanks.
But I think that was years ago when some of the Hype guys worked there.

I went in there when I first moved up here 2 years ago, and they said they had gotten out of it, but they had a couple of low-end markers, 2 or 3 old flexes that they wanted $80 for, and a fiber wrapped tank. I haven't been back since.
All we're gonna have next year is Frontier Outfitters (gear from '05 that they still want slightly over top dollar at the time for, 1 case of paint from a couiple of years ago, and $7 co2 fills) and Walmart and Fred's.
I guess I'll be in a better place financially next year (in theory) so I'll have to pick up a bulk tank for Co2 and see what my old sponsor would give me paint for... I guess I'll have to get more active in it overall to keep it alive. Anyone know who I'd have to talk to to get a city field in Fairbanks looked into? We had one in Safford, Arizona, by their gun and archery ranges, and we (or...me basically) kept it clean and taken care of. The city only picked up the 1 dumpster we had and that was it.
