general question

I have some hand me down planet eclipse pants with a tear on the knee. Is it possible to patch it up? If so, any recommendations?

yes. use dental floss to stitch it together. Its tough as hell and works well. We used it in the navy to stitch things that we did not want breaking. Thread denatl floss just like you would regular threads.

I used to do that with my pod packs as well. I would buy some fabric glue and glue the patch down around the edges where you want to stitch it. That will hold everything in place and make the sewing easier. It also adds more strength.
