The trigger isnt working? Adjust the screws in the trigger
The gun not working? Shouldn't have anything to do with correct trigger install

i figured it out.. it seems to be a trigger issue. when i installed the stock trigger it worked fine. No matter how i adjust the critical trigger it doesn't seem to lineup properly to activate the solenoid. anyone else have this issue?

The trigger needs to be adjusted away from the activation point. What is happening now is your trigger is activated and when you power on the board, it is entering programming mode as if you held the trigger and powered on.

Or just have someone at the field install it and set it up for you. Your settings are probly jacked by now. Or if a paintball shop is close to you, take it there.

Wait, is that the Critical Axiom trigger? If so, you'll need to get the magnet from the stock trigger and install it in the Critical one.

my bad.. i meant its a custom products Sling trigger, not critical.
I have a newer board in my mini so holding the trigger doesn't do anything... and again, its not a board issue.

I'm not saying it's a board issue. How do you enter programming on your "newer board?" I'm assuming you hold the trigger while turning the gun on, right? So, if you're turning on the gun now and, as a symptom of your issue, your gun is entering programming mode, it is safe to assume that your trigger is hitting the activation point without you physically holding the trigger. Knowing that, you can back out the screw on the trigger that determines activation point.
Notice how I didn't say it was a board issue? Your board is not broken. Your trigger is not broken. Nothing is broken... well, the last one I'm not so sure about.

the thing is.. i tried it both ways. Backing the activation magnet out as far as it will go.. and putting it in as far as it will go. I have a strong feeling that activation point is being missed completely due to the scratches on the body.

Does your "eye board" have the small magnet on the top side of it? Dunno how those fall out, but if no matter what you do to th magnet on the trigger isn't changing anything... I would check the small Magnet on the eye board.

The trigger is being activated which is why it goes into programming mode. All your electronics are working correctly according to your explanation. You need to adjust the trigger so that it is not constantly being activated.
