help deciding my next marker.
This may sound like a stupid question but I just got into this amazing sport this year and currently play with an axe. Looking to upgrade to either Ego10 or 2011 g6r. I would love to hear about the pros and cons of either of these markers so I know what im getting into lol besides the price. Any info is appreciated. so which marker should I go for? I play anywhere there is a paintball field lol. woods ball, speed ball, it doesnt matter to me.

Just curious but why do you want something else besides your Axe. Dont like it? The Axe is a very nice gun.

Well the display is very nice on the Ego line, and you will have to upgrade the board to get one in a G6r. The packaging on any PE product is top notch hard case, tools, manual, etc. You would think I have an Ego 10, nope. G6r a bit quieter, more efficient, less kick. IMO just my personal experience.

I would rather have a better gun than a better case/packaging.

Between the two, the G6R is a superior marker. You can add an OLED board if you want to. Just make sure you have a LP tank for the G6R.

I haven't owned an ego yet, but i loved my old G6r. Was super light, smooth, and felt great in hands.

Wait, so why do you want to upgrade markers?
Considering just upgrading the internals?
Unlike most guns on the market, the internals that you can buy aftermarket for the Axe actually make a very drastic difference.
For example the bolt kit alone can cost you up to $30 (Cheap!) and you can drop your pressure and dwell by as much as 50psi and 2 or 3ms. That's pretty ridiculous on the price:performance scale.
Other ergonomic boosters are like the nummech axe/mini foregrip extender and snatch grip.

Thanks for all the great feedback. I love the performance on my axe and have upgraded it fully, from the bolt to a new board. The reason I'm looking for another marker is the feel on my axe just isn't right. Maybe this is just me but I have long arms and the grip can be a bit uncomfortable when playing all day. I was thinking about purchasing the extender for it but I don't know anyone who has used one and reviews are hard to come by. I was leaning towards the g6r but after talking with several teams, I think I'll just save up a bit more and visit some of my local shops to feel the markers in my hand. Comfort to me is just as important as performance.

That was my point exactly. PE has good extras, but BL edges out in performance. On another note BL guns require tuning to reach their peak that when reached destroys the competition. PE products are designed to be beaters with low maintenance, and for many that is a huge selling point.

Thanks for the info 2pipes. Maintenance for me is not a problem, I take my axe apart after each day of play. I'm hearing a lot of great things about the performance on bl. Really thinking about trying one out soon.

Well going off of the fact that you have big arms, a more stretched out gun seems like it would fit you much better. The g6r has a more extended grip than the ego10, and as the others above say, a stock g6r will out perform an ego 10. A g6r with a few upgrades such as lp poppet and premium bolt will just be better than any ego in every category besides the LCD screen. The only negative thing about the g6r is you need to know how to sweet spot your reg and a pressure tester is really recommended. I personally don't think it's a big deal but its the only down side I can see.
Also if you would consider a spool valve, a luxe has a really long feel to it and when properly tuned will shoot incredibly smooth and quiet. But the down fall to this is less efficiency obviously and price tag.

I think you might be more comfortable with the G6r.
A friend and former teammate of mine shoots a G6r and, to me, it feels longer than my Ego 9 (same length as Ego X). So, just by going off of that, you'd probably be happier with the G6r.
In the end, I say shoot what feels good to you. I love my Ego 9, but I wouldn't hesitate to flip it for a G6r.
