F2P has shown to be more profitable than a subscription model. It involves nickle and diming players with cash transactions for things they want.

are there like micro-transactions in game for special gear and ****? that is generally how they do it in other F2P MMORPG's. hell even tf2/dota 2 does that with "hats" and weapon/armor skins

I know there are armor skins you can buy, but everything I've read says it isn't pay to win.

You can't earn the best pvp armor in the game without subscribing. They limited the number of pvp credits you can hold to be less than the cheapest piece of gear. That's really the only pay2win though.

Things like field revives, loot rolls, etc are all limited weekly and you have to buy cartel coins to get more of them. You can also buy mini pets, speeders, etc with cartel coins.

no. the only way Ill buy the expansion is if I can move my lvl 50 marauder character to a different server.

For some reason I am still playing guild wars 2.

I like PVP but it seems like in TOR if you weren't hardcore PVP the first couple weeks you were always behind the 8-ball when it came to gear. You experienced that when you hit 50 and then found out your lightsaber all of the sudden became a wet noodle. It seems like with all the new patches that is even worse because what little gear we had is now 3 levels behind the starter gear you get and 6 levels behind what everyone else has. It might be fun to PVP up until 50 but after that it would just be a grind.
