I might just have nostalgia goggles on but I don't feel like its planet side anymore. I feel like its battlefield or cod with a ton more players.

I'm not sure what they did with the patch that just came out but the base capture mechanism felt very insignificant and there's really no good indoor combat. Which was probably my favorite part of the original.

The focus in ps2 seems to have shifted predominately to outdoor with massive vehicle battles over a combined force type of battlefield. It seems like it all comes down to who has more tanks, not even aircraft because one skyguard(AA vehicle) can lock down the whole kill box that aircraft would normally dominate if the operator is competent.

You haven't played in latest patches, Skyguards are still effective but are not the one all killing machine they were.

One full mag of direct hits can barely take out a scythe/reaver/mosquito. Before, you could drop a Lib with one and a half clips of directs. They dropped the damage, but in the latest patch they upped the mag size a bit so it would take a bit more messing around.

The other thing is most air pilots haven't invested in armor for their flying, there's a big difference I've noticed on both the dealing and receiving side of that.

I do feel a good bit of the original Planetside in PS2, especially rocking the MCG. They do need to change the infantry game a bit. I notice a good amount of infantry v infantry battles at bio labs and amp stations. Tech plants are of course the worst for promoting vehicle battles.

I do like they started adding more Planetside mentality to PS2, such as continent lock bonuses. Also if you take tech plants from your opponent they cannot pull their heavy tanks.

Yeah I'm on thebe VS. if you're looking for massive organized raids my outfit does pretty damn good on Thursday nights. The last time I played we pulled apx. 55 troops.

I gotta find time to play but with the hurricane aftermath I've been working everyday and when I get off I wanna shower and pass out. Depressing really I even missed that triple station cash weekend deal

For a free game, this is a great game. Hell ever to pay for it is a great game. Now mind you will it be fun in a year when less people play, we shall see but so far I love it, coming from a PS1 vet

That's the whole thing what are they gonna do to keep it competitive with other shooters on the market. Regardless of scale, smedley and gang are gonna have to come up with creative things.

And of course they gotta make paying for the game worthwhile(or buying stuff) that way the game doesn't tank. I feel like they're gonna have some trouble with that because its not like their f2p RPGs where it limits levels and stuff. Techibcally you can unlock everything by playing(it'll take some time as compared to buying but you can).
