Just the price is an advantage.
Reports of the new bolt- they yield lower HPR, and LPR. and make the gun a different animal.

Its supposed to be softer on paint(even though Ive never had an issue in 2 full seasons with the older one), and also its supposed to lower the sound signature by around 30%.

The body of the premium bolt resembles the stock bolt dirt resistant bolt but with a pillow in the front. The bolt uses an aluminum insert that gives the bolt a little more mass which reportedly allows for lower pressures. I really want one but feel like I am getting a bit robbed at the $100 price tag. There is no way this bolt cost anywhere close to enough to justify the cost. They are supposed to be nice though.

there is the cost of R&D also they have to recoup. the price tag isn't all based on why it costs to actually make the part

I understand that but even with that the markup is extremely high for what it costs to produce. We have unfortunately come to an age where some bolts are costing the same as a quality entry level marker.

I shot one of the new premium pillow bolts this weekend. I can definitely say they are quieter and they reduce the pressures.
Is it worth the money? That depends. I would say if you play national events and you're shooting event 5 star/evil, then you should definitely look into it. If you're a weekend warrior who shoots a firmer/less fragile field ball all the time, then you're probably fine without it.

Or if you want to pull the trigger and ask yourself if the marker even shot. Or if you wanna stand next to your friend with similar G6R and say "wow tune down that ego, it's to loud". Having bragging right's also makes things better.

Gotta agree with Gamer! 1st time I shot mine with the new bolt, it turned everyone's head! Lots of comments about the change in sound!
