paintcheck = surrender

ok a quick question just to see what other people thought. Last weekend a guy in our rec field called for a paintcheck. As the ref got to the player, who was clean, another player snuck in the bunker with him and surrendered him. Now it wasn't a big deal everyone was cool with it no feelings were hurt. But just for future reference would you let the first player play on and call the surenderer out?

that would kinda be a hard call cuz alot of people take advantage of refs moving and dead players walking out but my call would be for him to just count as a kill so there wouldnt be any problems

I thought they cant advance on a player being checked ? at least thats our rule for the field and people are okay with it.

The official rule is that refs are neutral and in a sense are not even there, so advancing while a ref is checking a player is totally fine. However, rec ball fields can treat this differently (such as yours I guess).

Last night while working at my local field a player intentionally bunkerd me and a player I was checking so that he could get a free kill. In NPPL and PSP that's totally fine and legit, but on "MY" rec ball field that's just a dick move to the refs. He then proceeds to argue with me over recball etiquette, shortly afterwards I kick him off the field.

I was reffing a rec ball game a couple weeks ago and a pretty experienced player (he's a regular) and he called for a paint check, of course I go and check him and he was clean. One of our other refs was playing that game and he took advantage of that opportunity and surrendered the player. He was ok with it but its just a difficult call. Legally it's allowed but I don't like it
