Phantom making odd noise

I have a phantom with a rainmaker undercocking kit. I took the hole thing apart, cleaned, lubed, etc. Put it back together then when i air up its fine no leaks, but when i cock it back is makes a loud high pitced noise, almost like air shooting out. Any ideas?

Best way to fix phantoms is to tear them down and put them back together.

It sounds like your internals are draggin on your power tube somewhere opening the valve a slight bit when you pump.

Does the noise stop right away or continue when the gun is cocked? I think its the former correct?

Make sure your TPC is screwed in far enough that it is not hitting your Power tube on the pump stroke.

Also make sure your power tube is fully screwed into the cup seal.

Post up if that solves it.

the noise stops, I mean the gun still shoots. The noise only happens when I cock it back. Sounds good i'll try what you said Nahib and go from there. Appreciate it.

Alright so I tightened the screw I believe that's what it could have been. Shot it with air and shot fine, but I hardly had any air left. When I cocked it fast it would make the nose, but if slow it would not. Is this just cause i am out of air?

No, its because your slamming the bolt into the hammer into the PT which pops the valve open for a fraction.

If you go slow, it wont do that.

What screw did you tighten?

Ok good.

Have you been able to crono your gun? Make sure the TPC is not sticking out too far.

If you are using air. Is your tank a high or low preassure tank? Phantoms like high preassure. About 850psi. If your tank is low then it is possible that you don't have enough preassure to hold the valve closed?

Right now I am just using a 3.5oz co2 tank. Eventually I'll get a air tank. Most likely the ninja ones. No I haven't been able to chronograph it yet. Just got it, but eager to test it out.

I highly recommend the 13/3000 ninja. I've been using mine since I first got into pump about 3 years ago and I haven't had a single complaint.

Ok a 3.5 is good. That rules out he pressure issue too.

Did you make sure that the valve nut is fully tightened as well?

And again. Make sure the TPC is screwed far enough into the bolt.
