Army? yes or no?!
alright guys i got a couple questions for those of you in the Army/ military.
So basically, im 21 years old from OKC. iv always been in good shape and such but iv had a drinking probly since i was about 17. i had a recent run in with the law that had me thinking about WTF im doing with my life lol. i decided to go to the local Army recruiter and see what they had to offer.
Does anyone have any advice for joining? anything i should do or not do? anything i should think about before i start signing papers etc. i take the asvab this tuesday. any advice at all would be agg because im a noob in this department. thanks!

Joining the Army won't keep you out of trouble.
You will just find yourself surrounded by hundreds of people who are just as ****ed up as you are.
Army, would not join again 2/10

First off think about what your getting yourself into before you enlist in the military. This is going to be at least a 4 year chapter of your life that you need to be ready to have fully dedicated to bettering yourself and those around you. It is not a job it is a lifestyle and you will be completely changed as a person there will be a lot demanded of you and eventually you will be demanding a lot out of others...ask yourself if you are ready to be a role model to those who will end up under your charge and may be the same age younger or even older then yourself...if you have questions pm me I can help you

it doesn't help your problem, honestly if anything it drives you to alcohol and highlights you for the stupidest mistakes. Not saying its a bad choice, but solve your drinking problems first or else this choice will backfire on you.

i'm not even in your military but i wouldn't want anyone i know on here to be associated with someone who thinks the military will help them when they already know they've got pre exisiting problems that will be exacterbated by a place that causes you to go to the bottle quite often
