I ****ing hate console releases. I actually have to venture out into the cold black night with the wolves, wraiths, and commoners at midnight instead of preloading on Steam and sitting all cozy with my tobacco pipe and velvet smoking jacket like a true gentlemen.

You could still have to wait in line for a while depending on where you got it. The last release I went to was ME3. Everyone in line had their games paid for already and it took us two hours to get through the line.

Except.. I won't be? Since mine is paid off, I walk to the front of the line, get my receipt, and come back at midnight.

The Gamestop I go to divides people into groups based off when they purchased the game completely. The sooner you bought it, the faster you get it at midnight.

I was 100% turned off by the concept of another halo. All subsequent halo releases after 3 really turned me off to the franchise especially since much of it was the same thing over and over again.

Then I saw the Halo 4 review...

...I am so excited.

I'm taking Tuesday off to blast through single player, and hopefully have time left over for MP. If I wasn't staying at my gf's tonight, I'd probably go to the midnight release and just play all morning and day.

Anyone else getting the LE? $100 just felt so worth it.

I went to a suburb of Memphis gamestop for BF3 midnight release and there were about 8 or 9 of us waiting from 10pm to 11:30. At 11:30, the masses arrived. They did what you're describing.

Here is an idea, how about instead of waiting in the cold for hours outside of a Gamestop, go to Walmart, walk in, buy it, walk out.

I drive by the idiots outside of Gamestop every time there is a big release and just shake my head and laugh.

It is near campus, and it hasn't been bad for any game release I've gone to there. (Reach, Black Ops, MW3)

I really doubt Halo's launch will come close to a recent COD launch. It will be decent though. My local shop said they were expecting around 300 tonight. Easy peasy. Show up at 5mins til, get mah game.
