You save your money and don't waste it on a scope.

Paintballs don't fly straight. Magnified optics are next to useless. MAYBE if you were shooting first strike rounds but even then at the ranges you play paintball at you can just as easily use the mk 1 eyeball to do any spotting you need.
This line is in remembrance of Jared Wilson, friend and paintball teammate who died on 7/27/2005.

I concur scopes are pointless upgrades to Paintball markers.

lol mk1 eyeball

i always laugh when i see scopes on paintball guns. your gun can only shoot so far and if you cant see that far, you need glasses. plus, unless you're a bushwooky, you really dont have time to use a scope. pointless upgrade indeed

Nothin wrong with a scope as long as you know HOW to use it...

Scopes offer a flat trajectory, you have to 'sight in' the scope for certain distances to hope for accuracy. With the curved path of flight for a paintball, 'sighting in' your scope is that much more important.

Once you pick a distance, and sight your scope in your shots are great at that distance. "Sight your scope" by repeatedly shooting at target through scope and adjusting scope to where shot actually lands... if you can put the gun in a vice of some sort this will immensely help keep variables stable.

But, on a paintball gun, your shots will only really be accurate at that [set] distance. If you become experienced with the setup, you can get a feel for 'raise/drop of barrel' needed to make other shots, but then your scope is not actually on target so...

Scopes are only useful at their set distance. If you know this their fine. I sighted my scope in at about 80 feet. And at those distances those shots were awesomely accurate (compared to me "eyeing the barrell" at other distances).

Other note: Don't get anything more than 3-4 magnification tops. It is useless at our minimal engagement distances. I used to use a 2x magnification scope for a while...

I switched to a Red-Dot sight. Personally found it more useful...

Good luck - And don't let others dissuade you from setting up your gear how YOU want it!

Anyway, you can just buy some "Picatinny Rails" (a more or less universal rail size) and tie/glue/weld/attach the rails to your marker, and viola! Go buy a scope, flashlight, laser, and IPOD mount for your paintball gun!!

I know people who shot 1st strike and are using crossbow scopes and they seem to work well
