Vicious geo+ fps problem/ reg question
So I've been busy with work and finally have time to start playing again, but I remembered that the last few times I was not able to get my geo to chrono over 260. Read a few other threads on this and plan on rebuilding my solenoid and the pilot valve or whatever it may be. Any links or tips on doing so?
Second, I'm looking at getting a new spring for the reg to see if that will fix the issue. What spring do I need, or would it be in my best interest to pick up a sl3 reg off of ans gear, or would that sl3 even work because of that pcv piece or whatever it is inside the standard geo swivel.
Just trying to get this marker up and fully functional so I can get back out there, and trying to do all of this so I don't just cave and buy a geo 2.

Ok, with 80 views and no answers let me try a different question. If I were to purchase an sl3 reg, would I be able to insert the pcv into the new regulator?

You should be able to...its just a pain in the *** having to take the macro fitting off to install the pcv.

So since no one else wanted to respond I went ahead and ordered the violent sl3 reg. in case anyone else has the same questions I did, the sl3 violent reg comes with a PVC inside the macro fitting, and yes the swivel collar is interchangeable with the standard sl reg. waiting to go play this weekend to see if the fps issue has been resolved.

took it out to the field this weekend and ran into some issues. with the sl3 reg, I could get about one shot off, then just puffs of air after that. I could get another shot if I let it sit for about 5 seconds. Switched back to my stock sl reg and it would work just fine aside from the fact that it wouldn't go over 265 fps. Any ideas? id really like to get this sl3 working

Still cannot get this to work to save my life. Looks like I'm just going to send it to planet to have them do it. I just want it to work!

Is the Exalt regulator grip covering the vent hole on the side of the SL3 reg? I know some people have said theirs worked great with the hole covered, but it's meant to vent by design.

So, after being on the phone with Gerry and Walter from violent, we solved all the issues. The violent reg was not providing enough air to the marker to fire consistently because the 90 degree macro fitting was screwed in too far to allow the PCV to move. After that was taken care of there was a small leak coming from the violent logo. Didn't know there was another o ring just inside that part. Glad to say the geo is finally fully functional and shooting smoother than it ever has. Taking my tanks in for hydro tomorrow and hopefully a new hopper and I'm ready for this year finally.

glad you got your problems fixed. Planet Eclipse has the best customer service. Thanks for posting this by the way. I have been wondering for ages if the collar's would swap out but could never find out.

Just to clarify, I would advise against swapping newer style 45 degree collar. The standard 90 degree swivel collars work no problem. I'm sure you have read reasons why, just wanted to put a disclaimer.

Where did you get that 45 degree collar? And what did you do with the pcv?

I'm tempted to put an SL3 with the 45 swivel and a POPS on my VGeo 1.8? (Has Geo2 internals already). I too am curious where you got the 45 swivel.
