correct
Edit: unless he shoots anyone while out of bounds, so if you shoot one while out of bounds its a minor, 2- major, etc.

I agree with the dude above. If a guy goes out of bounds and shoots someone; that's a penalty. Same as shooting someone dead with a hit.
Good lord paintball is confusing lol

On the PSP 3 field the grass was either not cut or cut too early and allowed to grow back. This isn't a factor later into the event, but sucks for the first few teams that play. Also, I know at one point the team we were playing against had to use the chrono that was in our pit.

I played on PSP 2 on Thursday & Friday, the grass was not cut any neither pit had a chrono. I asked the head ref before our first match where the chrono's were and he bluntly responded that we should have brought our own. We were completely caught off guard by this. Luckily the team that was leaving the pit let us borrow their clock for a bit. The grass wasn't like a field but it was by no means cut. Like I said in my previous post, had a great time, I love playing PSP, but long grass, no white lines, no chrono in the pit and being treated like we ****ed up that we didn't bring a chrono was frustrating.

I played early on PSP 3....3rd match of the day and had no problems with the grass. I mean is the long grass going to slow you down or something? good god people find the most ridiculous things to ***** about, bring your own ****ing lawnmower if it is "too long" to your liking.
(This isnt directed to just you but everyone complaining about grass)

how did this thread go off topic so fast. lol
i was just caught by suprise that is all. I was shot by a player that stepped all the way next to the net trying to get an angle on me in the snake. it caught me caught me by suprise because i wasn't ready, in a normal layout with lines that would not have happened that angle would not have been there since he would have been way outta bounds.
im just trying to figure out if this will be the norm for the future. because doing this at one event out of 5 does not make any sense. especially when no one is informed about it.

I'm pretty sure there were no OOB lines at any of the events
I ref'd galveston and was constantly asked what is out of bounds and i don't recall there being any at Chicago or MAO...

No it isn't.
If the ref calls you out for going out of bounds, and THEN you proceed to shoot someone, that's a different story.

im pretty sure there were out of bound lines in the previous events because i ask the ref a few time if i can start out of bounds on the box and get in bounds with my first step.
its over now.

We don't always have OOB lines in the CFOA, however the general rule of thumb exists in the sense that the farthest outside bunker must be atleast 5 feet from the boundary. As well, we go by the rule that if a player travels behind the refs vision causing that referee to break his zone, or travels behind a referee standing a reasonable distance from the tape, or if a player touches the net, that player is out. If the player breaks the referees zone and in any way it seems as if the player is using the ref as a bunker, it is a penalty.
