The S3 will top anything you have held to date in both specs and real world performance.
Or you can wait a bit and get the Nexus 4.

I would have to say waiting on the nexus 4 would be the best choice

I'm loving my gs3 battery life is really good for a 4g android phone. Aokp is awesome on it.
Only nag I have with it is the hardware keys. I don't mind the physical home button cause I've been used to the iPhone for the past few years but I do miss just tapping it on my galaxy nexus that I had last year and my nexus 7 I'm on right now.
As for the razor HD max the build quality is nice and jb had been leaked but not a fan of no dev community being that the boot loader is locked.
If you don't care about flashing ROMs I guess the razor will be fine but personally I love my gs3

Second reason provided by Google: power draw. LTE uses a lot more power and battery life, and Google’s Andy Rubin cites poor user experience on the LTE Galaxy Nexus as a reason to leave LTE out of the Nexus 4. Of course, that hasn’t stopped other hardware manufacturers from working around this issue, including LG, which includes LTE radios in its Optimus G smartphone, upon which the Nexus 4 design is based. Invoking the spectre of users worried about battery life is a clever enough way to make a fault seem like a feature, but it ends up looking like lazy engineering, given how many others in the same field have addressed that issue sometime over the past couple of years.

Which companies actually do research on battery/portable power source technology? It seems like consumer electronics companies dont invest much in it, either because they don't have the resources or will to tackle it. It's like the elephant in the room for phones, laptops, tablets, and all that. Reducing power draw will only get you so far before you start sacrificing performance.
So are there companies that actually do battery r&d? Like as a focus?

my laptop is going to hell but it only has to make it to the end of the year. I really regret buying a 17" screen. Im thinking a 15" ultrabook will be perfect

$350 with a contract for a 16gig. No thanks, looks like an awesome phone but ill probably just go with the Galaxy s3 regardless of how ugly it is.
