It could be a couple things.

1. Your recharge rate isn't fast enough and will prevent a full cycle when fired.

2. Your regulator isn't allowing a quick enough recharge.

3. Your solenoid is going out.

Under what conditions is your ion in when it will not fire and only puff air? Long string of paint? Single shots?

Also, check to make sure you're using a fresh battery.. Ions can be picky about batteries.

It will shoot a very fast string of paint and then not shoot, also if I ramp it, it will shoot about 1/20 pulls, I though the recharge rate was just bps?

Recharge rate (board setting) increases the time between cycles to allow for the regulator to get back up to operating pressure between firing cycles.

Do you have any drop off while firing fast strings of paint? If so, try maintaining your regulator.

Also, try using a fresh brand name battery, check your capacitor to see if its good or bad.

I always use bran name battery's but I replaced it with a brand new one, and no it doesn't have any drop off, when I replaced the battery it shot fine but usally the first 200 shots shoot fine but then it has the problem

Sounds like something on your board is dying. If you can, try putting a different board in it.

check the batterey harness connection, even a few strands of wire missing can cause this, also check the microswitch to see if there is a bit of shell or paint stuck inside, you can clean it with alcohal,i've had this problem myself and was a real PITA to diagnose

Clean out the solenoid housing and armature.
Use a fresh Duracell.

What is your dwell set to? Do you have a QEV or aftermarket bolt?
