What's up with folding masks?
I see a lot of people doing that while playing.

Just one of the features of the JT Proflex mask. I personally don't play with it folded up, but if there's a delay before the game starts I'll leave it like that for a few minutes. Guess some people breathe easier...

But for the people who play with it like that, why not just trim the plastic away so it's lighter? I mean ure not using it anyway...

More than likely, because modifying it would prohibit that item from most tournaments.
From the 2012 PSP Rulebook:
Players must wear the full-face protection provided with the goggle system as it is designed and sold by the manufacturer

Some believe it gives a better chance communicating your message...i wouldn't recommend doing this I used to do it until I took a fatty bunker ball right in the lip

Its just another option. Never played with it up. Honestly they are one of the best masks you can buy.

I do it when it's not playing time. it allows me to breathe fresh air, instead of the warm stuff that may linger inside my mouth

I'm sure some people fold it up to vent them out better and communicate, where others do it because they like the way it looks.. Flipping it up definitely invites shots to the mouth, but it is what it is.. As far as cutting away some of the plastic/rubber, that should never be done since it can affect the integrity of your goggle system. Just my .02.

That's ridiculous. Shoot him in the mouth a few more times so he gets the message.

Keep in mind trimming will also kill resale

I play with it folded up because once I start sprinting in game, I start to breathe a ridiculous amount and really hard, so maximum airflow is definitely a big thing.
How do I solve the problem with a mask on? Fold the bottoms up.
