Stripped threads question

i have a ton of shocker parts laying around and started another mock-up sft. i got a problem but im hoping its an easy fix:

the va screw threads are stripped on the body. what can i do to get that va screw tight in there?

You'll have to install a helicoil.

is that basically a cap that goes inside the stripped threads to use a smaller screw?

Helical insert

Helical inserts, more commonly known by the trademark Heli-coil, [7] are inserts made of coiled wire. The insert is inserted into a tapped hole that is larger than the desired hole. They are usually over-sized so that they anchor themselves. Some have tangs to install them while others don't. Special tools are required to install the inserts. [

if you don't have the means to do the helical insert; i'm sure someone on here will do it for you. I'm not if fishballer can, but he does alot Shocker repairs for cheap

yeah hes workin on a shocker i got now. can wait to get it back! where can i find info on how to tap it for an nxt va? i like the va design a lot more on the nxts for sure

The nxt va will line right up on it you just have to drill and tap a hole between the insert tubes for the screw to hold it on.

and a sneak peak of this month sotm entry

SFT on left. NXT on right. the hole with air ways is tapped on the NXT just like the SFT. the second hole is the NXT va screw.(im sure you know this)

the NXT screw hole is approximately 0.215" in diameter and approximately 0.190" deep(measured from the end of screw to the first exposed thread) 0.180"-0.185" will give you a hair of room for error.

the center of the NXT screw hole is approximately 0.350" form the edge of the underside of the body on both sides.

and

the holes are approximately 0.470" from center to center OR approximately 0.350" from the center of the screw hole to the edge of the second hole (edge nearest the screw hole)

appreciate those exact measurements. i might even put some marker on the screw and mark it exactly where its positioned then do it exactly to those specs.

ps: after fishballer gets done with my shocker its game over for everyone!!!
