To think players will not cheat is naive, cheating happens in every sport when there is something on the line

I think naive is the wrong word, un- realistic might be better. I mean why should we expect people to play by the rules? I understand that players are going to try and get away with as much as they can, but it does not make it right. All I'm saying is if a player is going to cheat, don't ***** when either a penalty is thrown or one is missed. If they are not willing to hold themselves to a higher standard then why expect the reff's to.

The refs are getting paid to do a job. Players are paying to do a job.

I know what you mean, if the players are dirty then we shouldn't expect the refs not to be dirty. However, they're being paid to complete a job at the best of their ability.
EDIT: I know they're human and miss calls. I'm talking about missing a call on purpose (ie being lazy).

completely agreed. if the players would stop cheating, the questionable or missed calls would become less. if you dont cheat, there arent penalties to be given or missed. Sure, there are times when you dont feel a hit, or your fingers are already going when you get hit and a few shots come out. that happens. but blatant cheating is uncalled for. Just because other sports do it doesnt mean we have to. I have to respect for a player that openly admits he cheated to win. It means you were beat, but had to cheat to win. You dont deserve the win.
I was at PAP practice the week before WC. I was not on the turf field, but i heard the guy running the practice get on the horn and yell at everyone for wiping and other forms of cheating. this type of behavior is totally uncalled for. Our sport, and all sports for that matter, are played based in the thought that everyone is following the same rules. The rules are there for a reason.
Point of post - You have to room to complain about the refs if you yourself are cheating while on the field.

I watched a lot and played a lot and I can say that I have never seen the reffs miss so many people playing on. Ive always had good psp reffs but honestly some refs had no clue what they were doing and it was very noticeable. But many reffs were doing a great job!

There will always be bad calls. PSP4 and Eclipse Refs were just fine. I don't remember having any real controversial calls in my D4 or Masters games.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed or not but I just watched the infamous ironmen qtr finals and around 21:30-22:30 somewhere in that minute b short makes a move from the corner to the doritos, gets hit (clear as day on the video), then shoots almost the entire team...the refs come in to check him, look at it, then call him clean... sad to see ironmen win because of that.

LOL ya I saw this when it happened Live. He definitely gets shot clear as day, and then proceeds to shoot all 5 infamous players. The 2nd time this year that someone has eliminated the entire other team, and he played on to do it.
Ref even looks at the hit then you can see him in the background telling the other reff "WTF?". Mind you this is on the PRO field, the most experienced reffing staff the psp has. There is also a ton of cheating/playing on that the webcam doesn't catch.
But don't forget to include that Infamous lost the match to a major that caused a swing point in the last 5 seconds. I.E. Both teams were cheating it was just about who got caught more/less. That's how paintball has always been when its close(as every other sport ever played).
Watch the infamous vs xsv game both teams are cheating up a storm in that game too

One call I complained about was during the pump division.
My teammate got hit on the lower part of his hopper. he didn't feel the hit. The ref that was 5 feet away from him didn't call him out right away but just stood there and waited for my guys to call out. Why couldn't the ref just call him out and not give us a penalty.
Can't be too mad we did take 3rd overall.
Peace-

You are responsible for officiating yourself, and the only non-obvious hit is on the back of your pack. To point or wait for a referee to call you out on an obvious hit is considered playing on and is penalized.
Most well-trained refs will actually pull a penalty for pointing and asking for a check for a completely obvious hit, like a direct shot to the center of your goggle's lenses.
