The game does have some cool moments, unfortunately they are usually accidental. Like the time I was discovered (due to an assassination that went wrong for no reason) for the bajillionth time on a ship I was trying not to be discovered on and just got pissed and ended murdering everyone on the ship in 2 seconds with cool looking chain of finishing moves. Of course, I wouldn't have had to do that if ledge assassinations didn't arbitrarily change the rules of when they work and when they don't.

^^ I'm pretty sure I was doing that same mission the other day and I did the same thing. The optional objectives were "don't be detected" and "air assassinate a grenadier". So ****ing frustrating. I never could get the "don't be detected" part. It was freakin impossible.
This game could be great, but like Nerve06 said, I think they released it too soon.
On another note. I ****ing love the naval warfare for some reason. It's a blast.

I feel like they rushed it, I literally just found out this came out already and I was baffled. I thought it was coming out like spring 2013

This game could have been amazing if they would have waited another year and released it on next gen consoles.

The next game, using a new protagonist and storyline, will probably be out next gen.
This is the end of Desmond/Abstergo's story, but there's lots of artifacts out there. New people will take its place. It's too much of a cash cow for Ubisoft.

In all honesty I'm at 45% sync already, with 100% sync on every mission. So I haven't had a problem completing all of the optional objectives. I've got all the underground unlocked in Boston, all the courier missions, all the assassination contracts done, and most of the frontier banged out as well.
Still though, the bugs in the game are ****ing ridiculous. I'm trying to stealth my way into Johnson's place in the frontier, and people can see through ****ing rocks or hedges even though I'm 25 ft above them behind the hedge, its so ****ing annoying.

| I can't believe I slogged through the annoying **** in this game for that ending. Makes me feel pissed most of all, because I know the intertards that raged over ME3 won't say a peep about it because it's not EA |

I find myself thinking the same thing every time I try to ride a horse around Boston and the frame rate drops dramatically. If they had paired this game with hardware that can actually support it, it could have been pretty special.
Though for as much *****ing as I have done about this game, I'm still enjoying it for the most part. But like others have said, with a few more months in development and a few tweaks here and there, it would be a much better product.

I loved a lot of this game. For one thing, I thought Conner's character design was awesome. He has the coolest looking Assassin's costume so far, and I like that they managed to make it seem less out of place than you imagine it would be. I also loved the setting. Forest traversal more than makes up for the lack of big impressive buildings in the cities. It always felt cool to flit through the trees like Crouching Tiger. Conner's story was also good. I loved the Revolutionary War stuff and the fact that they dealt with morality on both sides with shades of gray rather than black and white, good and evil.

| After cooling off, I think I even would have been ok with the ending if it wasn't for all the frustration I had leading up to it. Having the final mission first be a ship that you absolutely cannot be detected on, and then a ****ing foot chase where the slightest mistake means you lose was a stroke of shear stupidity. |

How is the game play to say brotherhood or II? I haven't played anything past those two. Just wondering if its worth picking it up down the road.

ACII is by far the best overall, Brotherhood is great too. The previous game was "okay". Nothing wrong with it, but Revelation just felt like a filler to get us to the main story in ACIII. Worth playing because it's fun, but it wasn't as engaging.
I'd rank all the games in this order in terms of overall enjoyment:
ACII
AC: Brotherhood
ACIII
AC Revelation
AC
The original had one of the best stories, because it was so new, but the monotonous gameplay ranks it at the bottom for me.

Yeah,
As a game it was poor, but the story in it hooks you SO well. I grinded through it, because I needed to know how it ended and wasn't disappointing.

I'd rank the games as follows:
ACII
Brotherhood
ACIII
Revelations
ACI
ACIII would be at the top of the list if it wasn't for the ****load of bugs.

Naval battles.
For some reason I really hate them. I also just beat the game.
