at this point the only "american" company i would buy from is Ford and maybe 1 or 2 GM vehicals.


btw, i drove around in a CTS the whole time i was in denver...that car is a ****ing piece of ****. honestly it is one of the most uncomfortable cars i have ever driven/been in for longish drives. really glad i did not get one

Yeah, I'm not big on buying American vehicles. I enjoy traveling and going out, and not blowing my money on things like gas, unexpected repair fees, and a higher price tag. I'll stick with Japanese and Korean made cars.

you are not going to see much quality differenct between ford cars and toyota/honda/hyundai right now. nissans are buckets of **** outside their small trucks, though.

i would easily rather have a fusion or taurus over the corresponding jap car (JD power would apparently agree)

this. i would have gotten a used c300 but the deal i got on a new fusion sport was way too good to pass up and the milage is an *** load better (it got pretty much the same milage as my silverado). compared to a passat my milage sucks but i like not having to pay out the *** when something eats **** on it.

There are several fords I'd buy. Also I like Ford for trucks. I'd buy a Z06 from GM but that might be the only car I'd buy from GM. And nothing from Dodge.

i was really impressed by the new fords when i went on my search. my grandpa worked there forever and i can get on the best employee plan so it made my choice pretty easy.

my only regret is that i could not wait a few more months and get a 2013. i love the new fusion body style. i have a 3.5 v6 and i think the biggest motor you can get on the new ones is a 2.0 liter ecoboost (which gets the same output as the base 3.0l V6 on the old model w/ better milage). ill take the smoothness of and output of the 3.5L V6 over a more efficient 4 banger.

when i worked for the city we drove around in one of those for a while. within a year **** was falling off it already. such a rust bucket.

I currently am leasing a 2011 subaru outback sport; it's a fun utility car for hiking, biking, going to the beach, and helping people move. The 4 wheel drive makes it fun to drive and the lease terms aren't bad either.

Only downside is the gas mileage is pretty meh; 25 MPG at best, and I spend about 50-60 at the pump every week or so filling up. Pretty annoying. Worst part is the company finally got their **** together right after I signed my lease and redesigned their engine...so now they get 36 MPG highway...

My next car is getting 40 MPG's without question. Also, my company gets a discount with a number of auto dealers as we make sub assemblies for cars (not my business unit, but same company), so I should make out nicely.

I want my next car to have 500+ HP again and then I wont really care to much what MPG it gets. Audi gets 25 or so mixed which I think is pretty good for what it is.
