A simple way to do it is to get rid of the threads completely so the guide can slide in and out freely with just the friction of the the rear guide oring. Then you can drill a hole up between the noid inserts and tapp it for threads and add a screw to lock the guide in place. It'll be a little bit more of a pain to remove the bolt but the body will be salvageable.

this is exactly what I do in the case of major thread failure. except I machine a custom tight tolerance pin instead of just using a set screw.

well you can also buy threaded pins instead of making them, you just might have a bit more "slop" in the fit.

bringing back an old thread, but everyone likes pictures so it's ok.

my fix including the body threading, the guide reaming, and the custom pin (2 pins are provided with every fix):

set screw is slightly recessed into the body once assembled:

That's my body

*edit: excessive thread wear can be avoided by pushing your assembly all the way forward before installing the bolt guide. If you feel your threads are getting gritty, use this tip and prolong your threads life.

Looks like a nice fix, only pain is having to take the trigger frame off to get your bolt out. However, better to have to do that then to retire the whole thing.

unless you have a ccm frame, hybrid frame, or a few select NXT pl frames,, you don't need to remove anything to access the set screw.
