Custom Case
So, after purchasing my new Luxe 2.0 along with a full SS freak kit (one insert is inside my gun barrel back) I decided I did not want to be carting around the Freak case along with my gun. In order to get all my inserts into the case I knew I needed to utilize all the free space at the top, which was being occupied by the egg crate foam. Therefore, I found some high density foam (much like the kind at the bottom), cut out the inset slots, padded the inner case top, and lined the foam with ultra thin and soft felt cloth. I am pretty happy with the overall outcome, Only some slight tilt of one of the inserts, however they are locked in tightly and will not fall out during transport.
Tell me what you guys think. If there is enough interest I will gladly post a how-to with walk through and pictures of the process.

Awesome job! I was just cursing today when I opened my stainless freak kit and one of the stainless inserts fell out of the top lid. Great idea!

It's a great idea. I know someone has posted the same idea in the past but never really showed how he did it. My only question is how you cut the foam without it looking sloppy and torn?

I used some sharp razor blades from a wood carving set on the foam and the lining helps to hide the minor imperfections.

that mod looks awesome.
My only concern would be making the cutouts deep enough so the freak inserts dont actually come into contact with the marker when you close the case.

I will do a step-by-step and possibly a video for everyone. The foam I actually received from a friend who works for a shipping/packing company. It is very high density almost like a rubber. The density made cutting it very easy (I can take pictures of it) and as for the depth of the insert concerns I made sure to cut the foam all the way through to prevent the inserts from touching the gun, however the back/bottom below the inserts has a very thin foam underneath to protect the inserts which is also covered in the felt.
