I read thru the sticky and most of the pages so here's my questions

I am converting a halfblocked Trilogy Comp to pump, other then a reg and pump kit, is there anything else I should need (also have a CP on/off and using a Freak kit - may upgrade to CP 2 piece in a .682 model later).

How do I adjust the velocity or is this done thru the reg ? Or both ?
Should I get a LP valve or just stick with the stock valve and get a spring kit ?
Is timing important with a pump ?

There is no "timing" with a pump. You just set the hammer lug depth for wherever in the pull you want the trigger to drop the sear- thus fire the gun. Most people like it to be basically as short as possible for a pump.

The recocking is done by hand, hence no timing.

For velocity you want to sweet-spot your regulator first. Then adjust your velocity through the IVG in the back of the gun.

Don't bother changing valves. Get a spring kit.

I don't consider a CP 2 piece barrel in .682 an upgrade over a freak kit.. If you're playing with a closed bolt gun you need to be able to underbore or you'll get roll outs. Having 1 bore sized barrel is kinda senseless for a pump or a cocker.

*edit* if you need help sweet spotting your regulator look at the other mechanical cocker FAQ's

Cool Japy, thanks for the response. I have never owned a cocker, ever, I was always a Mag guy back in the day, but I wanted an inexpensive pump to fart around with on the field. I also wanted one that was center fed vs side fed. I have an AGS Bloodsucker a friend gave to me, but recently broke the powertube somehow so basically, it's on wall hanger status, lol.

I like the CP barrel over the Freak as it seems quieter to me in the woods. Plus, since we have introduced some of the kids on the field to pump play, the CP one piece @.685 seems to shoot darts and is reasonably quieter then my Freak is. The Dynasty Tip on the CP has more ports, so I assumed it would be quieter then the one piece. Since I only have one shot a little more stealth may keep me in the game longer

If you're looking for super quiet take a look into the Eigenbarrel. I've personally wanted one for at least 6 months but I haven't thrown down the money yet because in my area paint has suddenly exploded in size. I actually purchased a .677 insert last year and that was perfect for a slight underbore on some paint.. Late summer last year paint went up to .684.. This year already paint is starting out at .684 when it's cold but once it gets warm increasing up to a .687.

If trends continue I'm gonna end up using my .689+ inserts (thankfully I have stainless which has a .693 and .695). Most people still find the .679 and .684 to be sufficient in other areas of the country though.. If my paint was smaller still I'd be allllll over the Eigenbarrel for a cocker, since it's a stepped underbore and everyone claims its ultra quiet. With the low price it's really not much of a gamble either.

I'll probably never get rid of my freak inserts though even if I get an eigen or whatever. Paint varies so wildly these days that I'm afraid I'd be S.O.L. with my cockers without it at least in my bag/car as a backup.

Trilogy autocockers are super under rated.

They really only need upgrades in this order

Tech T Timing rod
Good HPR
PPS LPR
PPS Valve

And then if you want..a nicer trigger frame.

They really do shoot as well as almost any other cocker really..and they are real compact.

Actually, I'll be picking up a spyder/cocker spring kit and converting to pump so most of those are un-necessary to me but thanks for looking out
