G4/G3 question
I know that g4s and g3s dont have the best air efficency, but i wondered does dry firing use more air than actually shooting? any input would help. thanks pbnation.

it might simply because the bolt is not hitting the ball so it might stay forward longer?
it should not matter much. The techt bolt will boost your efficiency a good amount.

Dry firing is FAR less efficient on air. And when I say far less.....I mean FARRRRRRR less.
The reason is because there is no back pressure produced when there is nothing being fired. Although all of the board settings don't change between dry and live firing, the air dynamics does. From an air flow standpoint, when there is a ball "in the way" of the path of flow, even for a very short time, back pressure is built up for a short time peroid. It is this back pressure that is the efficiency difference between dry and live firing.
Another simplistic way to think of it is when you are filling your tank - specifically when it is very close to full. Although there is still plenty of psi wanting to flow out of the fill station, the pressure in the tank has come close to equalibrium with that source psi and therefore prohibits any more air to flow. This is kind of the same that is happening in the marker, until the static condition in the breach changes ie. the ball starts to move forward and out of the barrel.

Turbo + back pressure = good?

no far less efficient. you want the air flowing as freely as possible

thanks for the break down. that makes things much clearer. i had a leak and after i fixed it it still went threw air like crazy. glad to know it was just cause of the dry firing. thanks for the input.
