My next gun to buy
Okay so im not sure which gun to buy next ive heard alot about the ego and the geo but are they really that much better than say an Etek 4? I buy all my gear and stuff myself and im only 16. I need another gun because im starting to get into Tournaments and Team Ball and I have an Invert Mini if you could please tell me a good gun under $1000 as well as some good gear that isnt too ridiculously priced.

Hey bro,
I'm also 16 and have had to deal with the same problem quite often!
I've had pretty much all the brands of markers and both Poppit/In-line and Spoolie.
After going from a Mini I think it might be harder for you to adjust to a Poppit. The Mini is quiet and smooth whereas poppits are not, so try and stick to spoolies and In-Line Poppits.
A couple very nice options to look at would be:
Clone VX- Smokes Geos!
Drone DX- I've owned this marker, and its amazing! Super accurate and extremely well made. Not to mention its brilliant efficienct for a spool!
Axe- Dont let people fool you. This thing is very different to the Mini. Its smoother and way easier to take a part!

The mini is a poppet........ but cool story bro. I'd take what that guy said with a grain of salt. A mini can keep up be on par with any of the guns you listed. You're not really upgrading to anything. So unless you just want a new marker, thats cool. But, if you think you're getting something better than your current gun you'll be a little disappointed. Especially if your mini is broken in.

And OP, if you want to go for ease of maintenance, then an ego/etek is definitely the way to go. If you want to buy used them go for an ego7/8, you can pick them up used on here for around 350-400 on the low end, which is cheaper than an etek 4 and much better for the price.

What don't you understand sir?
The guy was talking as if the mini was a spoolie. Its still a poppet.
Anyway, the guns you listed aren't that much better than the mini you have. Especially if your mini is broken in. The money you'd spend on the new gun could go towards good/better gear.
But, I understand, I'm all for buying guns when not needed. Just trying to say if you expect the gun to be a lot better than your mini, it won't.

Cool go for it, I like using a pump from time to time. Or I should say, messing around with one as I've never used one in a entire game or purchased one. I dont think I would care for it and pumps aren't for everyone. I know its the "hip" thing right now though.

If you're wanting a pump, look for an autococker pump on here, they're generally very cheap. Or go for maybe an empire traccer, or the likes.

Even though the Mini and Axe are both In-Line Poppits, they're still closer to spoolies in the way they shoot. The Etek/Ego will be easier to maintain but doesnt produce the same sort of smoothness as In-Line poppits and Spoolies.
I've owned 3 eteks and 2 Minis so I should know the difference!

Used Geo 2.0
These markers are smooth and quiet compared to an Etek. My history had on Axe traded for Etek 4 and traded for Geo 2.0. Nothing wrong with Axe pretty nice marker, but the Etek was loud. Geo 2.0 smooth and quiet. Everybody says shoot the markers, but owning them is way better. Using them for at least a couple of outings including maintenance will tell the story of a marker.

Nah man, I had the mini AND the axe and they are very much the same gun. Just with less ASA problems. The etek 3 is very good but if u wanna spend under that and pick up a great gun, always stick with a DM12.... Awsome gun. I have, use it, love it!!!!

Yeah... the axe and the mini are two entirely different guns. People say that because they have a similar external design. Take them apart side by side, shoot them side by side and you will see how drastically different they are.
I had an Etek3 and it did very well for me, ego and etek platforms were just not my cup of tea. Didn't feel right to me, and that is solely personal preference.
I shoot a droid now, and have a DP Threshold has my backup. I love my droid, and they are simply to clean. Back cap, swab, and lube O-rings. Your done after that. The Drone is based off a similar design in cleaning, they shoot great and are in a good price range. Macdev also has amazing tech support and are very reliable.
The fact is, you need to shop around and try guns for yourself. A lot of what people will say on here is fanboy fueled or bias. Many guns will perform on par with what the sport demands, so it is only a matter of finding what feels good to you.

Second that TRY FOR YOURSELF. As for fanboy fueled or bias, I guess that depends on your point of view. Of course the best marker ever is the one you you are shooting. Just saying.

He's trolling... OP axes are the best for your money, or a used geo 2... If you don't want a spoolie go for a used ego7/8
