Will annodize affect the performance of the barrel?

I have this lucky barrel for like almost 4 years now and Ive been using them in all my marker. Over time it accumulated a lot of scratches, nicks and some wear in front of the barrel tip. Its still shoot amazing though, but I just bought a new marker and I want the barrel to match the color of my marker. I am planing to get it anodize. But I am worried that it will it affect it's performance.

If it's done right it shouldn't affect anything. If it's done poorly you can have build up or pitting in spots. It's not so much the outside as it is the inside obviously.

I'm pretty sure it is only anodized on the outside of the aluminum.

The inside will get anodized as well as stripped unless it's been corked. If the company/person who does it knows what they are doing then they don't need to cork the barrel as they know how to strip and reannodize without damaging the polished finished on the internal bore.

Loaded question. Yes and no. When stripped, the barrel will lose some metal. When re-anodized, the barrel will get a new top layer. However stripping one takes off more than ano and dying will put on. Miniscule amount, but it is there. Stripping and anodizing a barrel once won't change anything as far as performance. Twice and even three times might be okay if done right. But much more and you run into thread problems as well as increasing bore size, and not uniform.

Stripping ano isn't an exact science. Sometimes the ano takes a little deeper, sometimes the dye sets a little harder. This means stripping it multiple times can give you lumps and divots in the barrel.

It shouldn't.
I own a couple barrels (UL, Stiffi, Shaft 2). My stiffi has a nick inside the barrel. Even then, it's still my straightest shooting barrel.
