Spyder Pilot ACS cocks fine will not fire

My Syder Pilot ACS was working great 4 or 5 weeks ago. Got it out a couple of weeks later. Got it ready and cocked it and went to fire and it just clicks. It has a fully charged 9.6v paintball marker battery installed.

the sakety and the board appears to be working perfectly. I can change it to "Full Auto" and "13 bps" and it is ripping off some clicking

I removed left side grip and watched what was happening and I'm geussing it is either the capacitor or the coil set (solenoid). The capacitor, on the end towards the trigger, has a very slight bulge in it and it is not leaking anything and the "X" scoring on the end is not even close to splitting.

I have a good meter, but i dont how properly check the capacitor or the coil set, if it is even possible.

I made a short video of the problem and hopefully some of you much more experienced guys can see the problem right off the bat.

Either your solenoid or capacitor are dead and need to be replaced. My bet is on the capacitor.

That is what I was leaning towards, but I just don't know enough about these e-grips to make a smart move. Is there a way to check this type of capacitor with a multimeter? What kind of numbers do I need to look for?

If it is the capacitor, is their an opportunity for an upgrade here by buying a different type of capacitor that would show improvements over the OEM capacitor???

A bulging capacitor is dead. It may work from time to time but at some point it can burst and it will not work at all after that. You can get a replacement capacitor (only if you or someone you know is good at soldering) here. They are technically 6800uF 16V aluminum electrolytic capacitors. There have been a large group of caps in the past 16 years that have been dying from manufacturers using substandard methods/materials. Any cap you buy will perform just as well as the oem one (except a new cap will probably not bulge on you anytime soon). You can also just get a new board. Brand new tadao boards for spyders are $30 or you can just try to find one on here for cheap.

Does it still have the capacitor attached to it?

If the was one of two things that would be upgrades for this gun whar would be the opinion of all of you or any others as th best couple of options.

It already has a shot avtivated hopper on it. Are there upgraded bolts or spring kits that would help? What about trigger kits?

This shoud be all my questioms and I really do appreciate all of your help!

Get an HPA tank, that's about it for things you can put on a spyder to make it better.

make your spyder better put a virtue board in it upgrade the engine, i think its a very good upgrade from spyder to invert to the rest
