Ego 11 newb needs some help

I'm not new to paintball, just new to ego's and I need a little help with my 11. It was shooting fine but then I got the DART kit and messed with some of the settings and pressures and now my ego sounds like a cannon (I realize that ego's are not the quietest guns but this thing is loud).

From the research that I have done in order to try and get my gun back to the stock pressures I have since:

1. set me inline reg to the right chrono velocity (285 fps)
2. set my lpr at 2 turns from flush and then adjusted until my velocity starts to drop or become inconsistent.
3. lowered dwell until velocity start to become affected

So my first question is, did I do everything right because this is still very loud? Next I need to know what my noid should be set to. It seems that 1 and 7 or 4 and 7 seem to be the common and 7 is about as low as I can go because my velocity drops so that seem right.

Does anyone have any other suggestion of what I may be doing wrong? Should I just go back to the stock parts? Is there anything that I should check with the DART kit itself?

thanks

To be safe, I would simply do a complete factory reset to the entire marker if you have not already done so. I have never heard of this happening so I am not sure what other advice I can give. Taking it to a tech might even be the best course of action just to be on the safe side.

What dwell and how many turns in did you get to?

I loaded the factory preset for semi if that's what you mean by factory re-setting. The stock settings for dwell in that preset was 15.5ms and I left it there becasue if I lowered it at all then my velocity would drop.

If I were to increase the front noid restrictor then the rammer should hit the valve harder and it should stay open longer creating more air volume correct? I ask because then I should be able to lower my inline reg pressure and then it should make it quieter right?

With autocockers you have to sweetspot your reg to tune it correctly, do you have to do anything like that with the inline reg or is it all tuned through the lpr, noid, and dwell?

thanks

I would factory reset the whole board. Under the menu, go to load, factory reset. That's how the marker leaves the factory. (exactly from the manual). Leave your LPR 2 turns from flush like you have it. Now adjust your HPR to chrono speed. Try putting noid at stock 5/7, some were coming stock at 5/8.

I would also recheck your DART kit installation. Some have been having problems with just a minor problem during install dropping their fps to <250 and not increasing.

check your paint bore match. Small paint will make it loud as hell and will make it hard to get to 280-300 if its small enough. I went thru this a few weeks ago. I always shot Valken redemption and had to shoot empire premium at a tournament and the paint was so small compared to redemption that I couldnt get it to reach 300 for anything and it was drive you crazy loud.

alright guys, I just took everything apart, oiled everything and put it back together and tuned it up again and it seems to work great so far. It's not as quite as I would have hoped for but it is much quieter that it was and I think it may be a little quieter then a stock ego.

I ended up at 21/2 tuns in from flush on the lpr and 3 and 7 on the noid. It's really smooth, hopefully once it break in it will be even better

thank again

See if you can drop your dwell at all.

My stock settings where 2¼ lpr, 13.5 dwell and 2/7 sfr, and that was a fair bit smoother and softer sound sig over stock.

I haven't had field time with my dart kit yet, but ill let you know if I find better settings than that for my marker.
