My fellow paintball peoples! I need your help. I have an issue with my 2011 Proto Rail. The marker was firing fine for the first 2 times i used it. I purchased it used and it was in great shape. My issue is randomly paint will start rolling out the barrel. I checked the velocity on a Chrono. The marker will fire at a steady velocity and then suddenly have a massive drop off. For example

285,287,282,291,117,290

This will get worse and worse to the point where the balls are just rolling out of the barrel. This has happen the last 2 times I went paintballing. I tried upping the dwell to 45 (Default is 40), didnt help. I really can't put my finger on it. I checked the bolt and all its orings and they seem fine, lubed them all up. Checked the reg and its orings and seem fine. Swapped tanks. Same behavior. Battery is new. I am missing the C-Clip for the reg of my marker, but this was happening before I lost it. I posted a pic of the C-Clip I'm missing and a video of the marker having its problem while firing. Please help! Thanks in advance

I think the marker started to chop paint because there was one low velocity shot and a high one after so it broke the ball. Also, the metal cable isn't causing the problem. This was happening before i twisted it. thanks!

try changing out your batteries. thats usually the problems with the rail seems like a dumb suggestion but its worked for me.

i have a rail too go to the store and get a box of brand name 9v and put it in there. I sometimes have this issue to and fixes it right away. but if that doesnt work take it to your local pro shop and have a tech look at it. Good Luck.

Change the Battery! Upping the dwell will just put more stress on the battery so bring that back down to stock.

the little c-clip is to keep you from backing out the velocity adjusting screw. if hats broken, when you shoot it could be backing off, causing the velocity to jump around. if its still chopping paint, set the dwell to stock, and remove the whole bolt, clean it with a microfiber cloth, re-lube and put it back together. thats always fixed my problems with my rail

be light on the lube the bolt doesnt like alot of lube it actully makes the bolt sticky

theres a few ideas i have about it:
check the lube on your bolt, what lube are you using? some lubes ive noticed caused me to have random bolt stick.
im sure its not your noid, but it would not hurt to clean and relube it.
if you just changed the batt. dont worry about it.
make sure your chamber is clean before you reinsert your bolt.
check the condition of the bolt: make sure there is not jagged areas around the tip, if there is you can use a high level sand paper to even it out, be careful though use 1000grit-2500grit with it very lightly coated with wd-40 if that is the issue (fixed a friends marker this way) reclean and relube.
if its none of the above im sure it could also be your hyper 3. complete rebuild and relube. if you are missing a ring it could cause issues.
make sure that your air in threads are not screwed in to far and have nothing blcoking it.
