I had a 16" Freak on my first cocker, it was ridiculous. My PPS brass on the sniper is like 12ish and is absolutely amazing.

tip length is really about what the player is comfortable with. The control length of the barrel is the same regardless of the tip length. I have the 10,12,14 and 16 inch tips, but only use the 10. I shot my own hand once with the pump marker due to careless pumping...

You guys need to practice pumping more often. Maybe wear a glove or use some lube or something.
