I just bought new Gen X Global .45 Rockstar grips on ebay for 4$. They are .45 grips and i was told that the Envy uses .45 grips... So why don't the new grips i just bought fit the envy??? This is annoying me. Luckily i got the grips for cheap, but still... I can get 3 of the screws in but the forth hole doesn't line up with the screw hole. I tried pulling and stretching the grip out but it still doesnt fit. Its like a centimeter off. Does the envy really use .45 grips?

Yes, most GoG/SP guns do. Try heating some water, dipping the grips and wait a minute or two, this will allow the grips to stretch a little more without them losing shape.

Thanks for the advice. Luckily i was able to get them on the gun without having to do any of that though. I just had to put the screws on in a certain order and try to stretch it a little.

The problem is that 1911 grips vary a little bit from gun to gun, even in real steel you can have fitment issues. My Pachmayr American Legends grips fit perfectly on my G1 so I'd assume it's an issue with GenX's mold being a little off.
