google and call a local plater. Nothing real special about dipping steel in acid.

^ chrome is a little harder to strip that you think...

Like he said chrome shops are your best bet...Just ask them what the procces will do to aluminum before you get it done.

Its a pain in the nuts. I started doing it last week and have found two options. One is essentially reversing the chrome plating process and the other is muriatic acid. The first requires some specialized equipment, the second can destroy aluminum if not done correctly.

How about media blasting? Either way it's going to leave you with unfinished aluminum

Problem with blasting is when you are talking about a paintball gun there are areas that can't be effectively blasted. If you miss a small section in a hole inside the body and then try to ano it you will have nothing more than a mess. Chrome and nickle will violently react with the sulfuric acid when power is applied. The part will turn black and the acid bath will turn white. Unfortunately I know this from experience.

Apparently, you can use caswell's anodizing stripper if you run 12V DC through it and leave it in for 5-15 minutes it will remove the chrome plating. Haven't had the time, nor the desire to **** around with it though.

%15 h2so4 bath with a stainless anode running an anodizing process in reverse will do the job. It can some time and you need to watch your amperage and heat, but it will take every layer off including nickel. I don't have a very good setup for it which is why I do not offer it. Its also not reliable which is why I suggest using a plating shop.

Plus I don't see that setup lasting very long...

I hope this was not with a certain FBM body

still need pics when it's done, and am enjoying the mag!
