I just recently decided to start playing seriously again, and even make an attempt to play psp series this year. I have been out of the paintball loop since 2007. So my question is, will my 2k5 Timmy with virtue board still be psp legal and do you think that it's capeable of keeping up with newer markers?

i still practice with Uprising and Thunder (pro team) and i've been using 2k5'd timmys for the last year and they work just fine

ya a lot of guys want the newest and best but when your shooting 12.5 BPS a Gen 2-3 Timmy will work just as good if not better than the best guns made today. My custom ripper 2 is probably smoother than my G6r but its probably cause it weighs more. But they are both sweet looking smooth as butter consistent shooters. And I have used both in PSP tourneys

newer guns are nicer, but if your gun works there is no NEED to buy a new one, only the WANT factor.

I sold my SL8R because i don't travel with a team any more, and thus don't play much. So I'm building a timmy just for pick up games or if i decide i want to practice with friends or local teams if asked to fill in.

The things you're missing out on would be things such as, thinner frames (no clamshell), lighter guns, no macro line, and they easier to disassemble. But your gun will still shoot smooth if tuned, and with the virtue you can still shoot 12.5 easy.

I've seen some pros using "classic" guns, the differences are so minor now. It comes down to weight & efficiency, but there is always air available.
