This is less than pleasing.

Was stuck under the solenoid when I removed it.




It appears to be corkscrewed aluminum from the manufacturing process. Guess it didn't cleaned too well before they put it together.

It happens. Nothing to be too worried about, just clean it out and if you see it.

And try driving a new car for 100 miles and then cut open the oil filter, you will find all sorts of metallic goodies from manufacturing and break-in.

Oh yeah I'm aware, it just ended up in the worst spot it could be in. That couldn't have been passed through the solenoid but if it would have gotten in it then it certainly could have done some damage.
