Elbow Pad Issues

I recently decided that I wanted to get into paintball. When I was at the local paintball store I realized that they didn't have any elbow pads that would fit over my forearms. My forearms have around a 15inch circumference. Does anyone have any recommendations on an elbow pad that might fit? The local store said that I might need to look into softball pads or something along that line.

Planet eclipse overload pads are the best i've ever used. The XL size is listed as:

XL -Upper Closure 14.2-15.7" -Wrist Closure 9.1"

If your wrists fit that and you are interested you could get them off ansgear.com

To be honest, you don't need elbow pads yet. I didn't buy them until about 4 months into playing. I would say just to get yourself a nice Eclipse Jersey or any jersey for that matter with built in padding so you can still have some protection there.

at the least id say kneepads before elbow pads, however if your a more aggressive player and do a lot of sliding youll want elbow pads too, ive always heard good about eclips and empire's pads. sly's look nice too.

Have to agree with the majority. Elbow pads can come later. Invest in a decent jersey and it'll have seen in padding as do some military tactical shirts. I don't always wear elbow pads but don't take to the field without knee pads. Of course, if you're in the woods and doing a lot of crawling around, you may want to pick up some elbow pads sooner rather than later.

A good jersey will last you a while but when you do decide to check into elbow pads I would look at the Sly 2012 pro-mercs. I have used the majority of pads on the market and these are by far the best (at least for me). Second best IMO is the PE Overlord as mentioned before.

I also have problems getting elbow pads to fit my arms. What I have to do is buy XL Empires with the velcro strip on the top and just wear them without the velcro fastened. They're so tight on the arm that they don't move even if the velcro isn't closed.
