Yes. Its an additional part that clips on, its not a permanent fixture.

thanks, after one use I can see how taking it off would be helpful, yet would be needed in other situations.

One thing I was wanting to do, thought its slightly off topic.. I was looking at getting the dremel out to drill out larger holes for breathing. Has anyone done this, google didn't give any valuable results.. I've seen the JT ProFLex which have some larger holes than the microscopic ones in the Profits?

What I did with my Profit's was take a fresh bladed X-acto knife and carefully cut the holes out in the middle of the "ribs" that the vents have. I can upload a pic if you want. I can breath a bit better, but it's still not ProFlex breath-ability.

ALright, that gives me an idea. I was going to dremel/grind/melt it smooth... I've eaten paint three times in two games without modding it yet...
Always look in the bunkers.. scared the dude so bad he lit me up. That one out gave me more hits than all my other times out!
I was going to look at hitting it all over, even where it was solid parts (on the chin gaurd). As my post said, the other masks my buddies have used seem to allow tornados to form inside.

I just got a Profit for a really good deal and did a little research. These seem to be the two major issues that come with it; Hard to breath, and hard to hear. I got a mask in a package deal that had an interesting method i think would help with both issues. Basically it's to melt holes in the mask for better ventilation and larger/more holes to hear through. what do you guys think?

What does that do to the mask? Have you been shot there yet? Does it hold up?

I did the same mod also with an exacto and it made a huge difference. I've taken a couple shots and there is no difference.

Too bad that prevents you from using it in tournaments with strict regulation.

I'm certainly not going to cut up the lower part (probably not tourny legal and I don't really want a hot paintball tearing through what is left) but I did tear out the ears. Huge difference. Although the clips kind of push into your temples which the ears prevented. If you wear a sandana, just make sure it covers that part of your head and you don't really feel the clips. If I ever want to put them back in, some hot glue or rubber cement would probably suffice.

I can hear just fine out of mine, no ear mods at all. I don't know what the fuss is about with the ears, are you kids just turning up your ipods too damn loud?

Compare the size of the holes in my mask to almost any other mask out there and you will see they are not any bigger. The only thing that might make them not legal in some tourneys would be if they had a rule specifically stating you can't modify your mask.

That will exclude you from just about any tournament because they all exclude modified masks. Sometimes they don't bother you about it but they can. Even OG gator cut masks flexes are considered illegal. I would advise that you Do Not Cut Your Mask. You would be better off purchasing something that fits your needs without modification. Im surprised field owners allow you to use a mask like that.

LOL i know right? I have been using my profits for just over a year now and haven't had a single issue with hearing or breathing! On a side note, for those that are having trouble breathing through it, try running around doing the same moves and maneuvers you do on the field without any mask on at all and see if you are still having trouble breathing. If you do, then clearly the mask isn't the only thing to blame...regular exercise does wonders.

Anybody figured out any breathing mods? Cause running in the profits is like running wearing a gas mask. Except gas masks don't fog as bad

sorry but have you worn a gas mask? I have, at CO altitude, in the middle of summer, while wearing chem warfare clothing...
Profits is nothing like that at all.
