help capping an E2 1.10 karnivor
hey guys, so i played a tournament this last weekend and my karnivor kicked up to 15 bps psp, i thought it was shooting 12.5 for the last few months but it shot fast so i could use some help with this, i checked the manual and i think it is set right but i am not sure, i haven't adjusted anything from last weekend. i know most of these settings don't matter in ROF but i want to have a baseline to go back to if i mess anything up. the tournament manager thought it may have been because my eye sensor got blocked and it defaulted back to 15 bps
i need to keep it capped at 12.5
filter:
ball: 1 MS
empty: 2 MS
pull: 1 MS
release: 4 MS
TT: 1 band:75%
TT tol: 12%
timing:
sear on: 4.0 MS
C delay: 6.0 MS
C on: 65 MS
C T / out: 1.0 S
C off: 28 MS
i really wish there was a new flash with 12.5 semi and 12.5 current psp ramp

Keep raising your C off setting until it will not ramp over 12.5 even with fresh batteries in the fastest loader you'll be using. You might want to go to an even 12, just to be safe. (actually, do the E2s even measure in .5 increments???)
Or to be even more exact, since 12.5 is well below the speed of what Rotors, Prophecies, and most other modern loaders can handle, you could run your eyes off and adjust your timing so that 1000/the total of all your timing values = 12.5.
I would ere on the side of a higher Con setting since that controls how long the bolt stays back.

ok... so i need to have my cycle time at = 83 for 12 ms it seems.
so i am at cycle time= c delay + Con + C off so.. 6 + 65 +28 = 99 cycle time... which confuses me because wouldn't that make my max ROF 10.1 bps? but my gun shot 15? i am
maybe the PSP mode for a 1.10 board overwrites that cap and sets it to 15 bps?

con gets overridden if you have the eyes on
you have to increase coff to lower your rof.
how much you have to lower it depends on your hopper too, so there will be a little trial and error until you get it right.

Assume CON is 15 or so

Yes. The only way to be absolutely sure you won't go over the cap is to run it with the eyes off and set your timing values appropriately. It doesn't matter how high your Con time is set with the eyes on; if your loader feeds it in 20ms, then that time will be 20ms.

any guesses on what C-off setting i should be around to get it to 12? i am using a rotor so idk, but i can trial and error. i thought with the settings i am at atm i should be under 12 even.
edit: got the marker capped. i re adjusted the reg because i screwed up the sweet spot while trying to chrono fast at the tournament and i ran into something, when i had the reg at the sweet spot and i backed the IVG out until it shot at 290 WITH THE BEAVER TAIL OFF i put the beaver tail in and it seems the screw is touching the spring? and it changed the velocity to 240, i tried a few different times to put the beaver tail on without hitting the spring and at the end i just decided to screw in the ivg a few turns and then put the beaver tail in and it shot 290 and i left it.
anyone know anything about the beavertail screw contacting the main spring?

is it hitting just the spring or the entire IVG tang? If the screw is pushing the tang into the spring it will affect velocity.

i have the screw going through one of the ivg open spaces like it should, i think the screw is hitting the main spring. had 2 karnivors i was working on this weekend experience this issue, mine being one of them.

Very weird, just find shorter screws I guess...

that is a wierd one, the beavertail screw should be just long enough to stick through and make a little contact with the ivg to keep it from turning, dont think it would go in that far.
make sure you have a slight underbore with your paint, having partial rollouts can cause crazy fps jumps too. that way that problem is ruled out at least.

i use a lurker eigenbarrel in a .675 bore or a .682 kaner i always underbore with my autocockers. it is definitely the spring, i tried it without touching the ivg beavertail on and beavertail off, over 50 fps difference
