That was the plan, but I have the air pump. The plastic runs along the side of the head so I couldn't flip it. I had to remove the pump and the plastic piece.

So when I start my car there's a second or two of what sounds like a rod knock but then it just goes away. Can't be an actual rod knock since it isn't consistent at all, right?

Are you sure it's not just lifter tick? Is it violent? Does the car run fine?

Considering the oil is old as **** and reading as 5% life left, that's probably it. This morning the engine temperature started rapidly rising whenever I stopped too. It didn't skyrocket but you could clearly see it move a considerable amount.

I think I will spend a few days behind the wheel before giving it away haha. I test drove an 09 too that I liked alot more, but it wasnt worth the additional 8k they were asking. Fun car so far, for the 40 or so miles I have put on it.

So today I personally saw Hondas in the 700+whp, a 1200whp 350z, a 1000+ GTO, multiple Subarus in the 500s or so and got to sit in the Crawford STi.

Also saw/sat in the Subaru XV Crosstrek. Quite the comfortable, nice little car. We're looking for a small crossover next year, and it's between the XV and the Santa Fe now.

My car didn't get much love, but I was parked between a 400whp RSX and an Infinity with over 50k in "show car stuffs" put in it. What little I got was because I was the only Saabaru there.

Left the event with free Traxxas car, like 10 shirts, a nice pen, some Subaru Oakleys and one of the WRC car front bumpers. Pretty cool ****.

Also, Mr. bmx, their debuted 2014 BRZ had Mach V Awesome! wheels on it!

STI is at the shop.

Talked to john at akuma and he said if I can get a built short block for 2600 at imoortimage than do it. He told me to check some things out (703 or 704 casting, can I get a build sheet, 17 and 19 on piston rings, and 3k on cylinder wall clearance.).

Called josh... it seems shady as **** going trough him. Can't get a build sheet, he is "checking" to see if they can do all the specs I want, and he doesn't know the casting. He didn't seem interested talking to me on the phone and said he has to talk to his "machinist" on Monday and then "give me a quote".

My thing is for.there extra 400, john builds the engine and everything is cleared and checked through him. He verifies and does everything and if.something happens the burden of responsibility falls on him. If the motor fails for.some reason I have to pay to pull it and then send it back out and fight with IIR to get a new.motor.

If its all.done correct.the first.time there shouldn't be any issues and I.won't come out.of pocket if anything fails.

Is it worth it to save the 400 with this mentality or should I just try it... ?
