I am think of making a wooden pump handle, making the thing aside, is there any major problems with wood? I Imagine there will be a fair amount of drag, but I plan on polishing the inside of the handle. I live in Vancouver so it will come in contact with water frequently, can anyone reccomend a good sealent?
Not sure of this should go here or on the voided warranty, so if its on the wrong place let me know.

Any decent Shellac will work for finishing.
Shellac has the advantage of being burnished through use, and once dry is completely waterproof.

Wooden pump handles have one big disadvantage in that wood alone will not hold machine threads like the end of a pump rod.
Mounting bolts can be replaced with wood screws but you need to install an insert made of brass or steel anywhere a threaded rod or machine screw has to be.

yeah, I though it wouldnt thread very well. thats a good idea on using metal inserts. I might also try just mounting wood on to a delrin pump handle. Ill put pics up of my progress, I just need to find the best wood. Im thinking cherry wood, or at least use a cherry stain. I think maple might be good too.

Walnut. Sealed / sanded / sealed / sanded. Etc. X 10 times. with Linseed Oil (home depot).

This is the treatment of and choice of wood stocks for most militarys going on hundreds of years. The oil makes it waterproof when done right.

You need to use threaded inserts easy to get at ACE hardware.

Good luck and it sounds like a great idea paired up with some Walnut grip panels.

Im not sure they have ACEs here, canadian tire and rona here I come! walnuts a good idea, I looked into that but its a bit past my price. I found some cedar in my shed so Im going to test it out with that and see if its worth spending actual money into it.
