Still have a macroline? Fail.

Dye has stated that they're keeping macrolines for teching reasons. I completely agree with that decision.

a) Not Dye's fault. Though they do release a new model every year with few changes from the previous one, people still buy them and they therefore control the market.
b) Use it to your advantage and pick up a DM12 this weekend for 700 bucks.

While this may be true, lets be fair. Dye doesn't control the resale market. The same thing happened with Egos when they had annual releases, albeit not so drastically.

Dye needs to step up their game IMO.
The last few DMs have kind of been a flop compared to the competitions offerings.
Resale on Dye guns is just sad. Used guns are taking a huge hit in value in general, but especially the Dyes lately.

Because 1 o-ring controlling the internal transfer of air inside the marker is a lot harder to maintenance than two macro fittings and a macro line that gets in the way and looks stupid.
Dye can say they keep the macroline because it is "easier" till they are blue in the face, in my opinion the only reason they still have macrolines is because they want to sell Hyper3 regulators still. Removing the macroline means redoing the hyper3 and not selling it as an aftermarket piece for other markers that have macrolines. $90 regulator = reason why you will never see the macrolines go away.

How much more difficult is it to tech a Luxe/G6R/Vic/GT? I don't have experience with those markers so I'm genuinely curious.
I have, however, had many issues with leaks from macro line or fittings on Proto, NT and PE markers.

I'd take a g6r over any ego any day of the week.
I'd take a luxe/vic/gt over any DM any day of the week.
Macrolines are so unnecessary and the excuses to keep them are lame at best. Fan boys will believe anything they're told.
My rev-i gets no use because of the macro-line. I find it annoying after having a luxe. I've never liked the feeling of any marker with a macroline since feeling markers without them.

Dye isn't in the market for used guns and like all other manufacturers, they don't care about the used market. Now I would agree that the look isn't as attractive as the older models from just a few years ago. Maybe they should just go back to that and add less flair...

With guns with macros, you dont have to put it back together to determine if a leak is not fixed. With the Luxe and such, you have to put it back together and tighten it all up to see if the leak is gone. It just becomes as hassle.
