Very skeptical !!
Hello pbnation- I'm somewhat new to paintball considering all I've shot was a tippman a-5 and rentals lol!! I've pre ordered a clear/chrome extremely sexy vapor ( only 10 made ) that I should receive this next wednesday .. I have done as much Internet information searching/reviews as possible on this marker, and I'm kinda stuck in the middle regarding my desicion.. I know the difference between a poppet/spool and the much attentended maintenance and love a spool requires... Is this a dependable marker compared to a geo 3?

If you're upgrading from an A5, get a GEO. They're bullet proof. these markers require a little more tuning for them to shoot right, and you probably have a high pressure tank (which you cannot use on a vapor)

Hold the trigger down and power on the marker (to get into programming mode)
click the trigger to scroll down to programming menu, then hold the trigger down to enter into Programming Menu.
hold the trigger to select profile A
click once to select firing setpoints and then hold to enter
click a few times to get to BPS eyes on (use the power and eye buttons to raise/lower the value) (15= 15 bps)
BPS Fine is the tenths value (5 = .5 bps)
BPS eyes off shouldn't really matter, because you should NEVER turn your eyes off
when you click to scroll through, eventually you'll see a black arrow in the top left corner. Hold the trigger and it'll go back a page.
now select firing mode enable
turn off all the modes you don't want.
semi = semi (true semi-auto)
burst = 3 round burst (NOT PSP)
reactive = 1 shot per pull, 1 shot per release
auto = FULL AUTO (illegal everywhere? except for Pain or Paint at the end of the day)
ramping = ramping based on settings
tourney 1 = PSP
tourney 2 = NXL
tourney 3 = Millenium

You dont need a new tank just a regulator that can output between 450-650max

Hey dude! Glad to hear you're getting the info you need.
For tanks though, you need to be using a low-to-mid pressure tank. Anything between 350 and 600 should work just fine. Your best bet would be to purchase a new reg (Ninja pro regs are perfect, just pull all of the shims out to get it to 450) however you could contact DYE to see if they make a low-pressure kit for your stock reg.

^^ what he said; it's under the left grip panel. If there's nothing there, just put NONE in when registering your marker (meaning you have a pre-production prototype)

No "prototypes" made it to the U.S.the first production run had no serial numbers. They were the first production batch.

I went out for an early am team practice and could not get my vapor to stop breaking paint? It would do it about every 10-15 shots.
It was a pretty cool morning (around 50-55 degrees) I trying cleaning the eyes and checked the detents that didn't help. I tried cleaning the bolt and guide then relubed with dow33 then ran tune assist and again it didn't help.
I had the barrel slightly over bored and shooting at 280 fps (very consistent +-5) I am using a Ninja SLP tank and the setting were as follows,
Dwell : 11
Bolt Return: 27
abs dwell: 2
abs rest time: 2
breech delay: 7
eye mode: std
eye process: std
I also had a very hard time running tune assist. After I got the dwell set and would push the power button it didn't want to switch to bolt return? I had to try like 8-9 times before it finally worked.
thanks for any help
I also sent this to Tech at Machine and this was the response
"Do you have the flat faced bolt?
Also try these settings
Dwell 10
Bolt return 20
Breach delay 15
Bolt return screw in all the way then back out 1/2 turn"
I do have the flat face bolt and tried these settings and it is still breaking paint like crazy?
if anyone has any ideas that might help I would be thankful because I have a tournament this weekend and need the gun to work!

SLP might be your problem; the lower flowrate could be causing the marker to misread the bolt as a ball in chamber and attempt to fire before the bolt is all the way back. Does one of your friends have a LP (non SLP, non HP) tank you can test with? As for tune assist, it's possible your button is a little short which requires you to press it in really far. You should just tap the button, you shouldn't need to hold it down.
Back to chopping; I'd also up the dwell and lower you HPR. Set your dwell to 12 and then re-chrono.
here are my winter settings (so far...)
dwell 12
bolt return 27
breech delay 6
ABS dwell 2
ABS timer 2
std/std
** Try a tank in the 350-550 PSI output range and let me know how it works out. If you'd like me to look at it, shoot me a PM.

I do have 3 tanks all ninjas Pro adjustable , Pro SLP and UL adjustable
both of the adjustable regs have no shims so should be around 450psi. I'm getting the same problem with the other thank also.

slp is 275 unadjusted, the other tanks should be 450ish like you said.
That's quite odd, are you sure it's not just barrel-breaking? I'd be willing to take a look at it if you'd like.

I'm having a similar problem. I get a handful of breaks every time I go out. Not ever 10-15 shots....more like 1 in 100...but still enough to be annoying. And it even happens just firing a single shot sometimes.
It got me thinking.....detents to stiff? just a thought
