Majors
I was debating join the military or go to college, now i need to come up with some great reasons why college sounds more amusing then military but i'm having trouble finding a major that fits my status. Not sure what majors to choose from. I'm not that great at math but have always wanted to do chemical engineering but im afraid this would be a long shot for a guy like me. I do like computers but not sure what major would fit my status considering most computer engineers use a lot of math which makes me nervous because I really suck at math. Any idea's on some majors that make it easy to get a job outside of college that pays decent?

you could take a semester of an intro to chemistry (or general chemistry, depending on how comfortable you are with it) and some computer classes and take the bull**** classes you have to take either way (english, basic Econ, religion, etc). youd be able to decide from there and with either path you choose you wouldnt be held back at all since you chose to take your necessary electives.
i totally encourage people to NOT go in with a decided major when they don't know what they want. I've changed my major twice before i found what i really wanted to do. you also might not like math now but in a different setting you may find it more natural. i HATED spanish in highschool but now im minoring in it because i love it..
Someone at the school will be able to make an "undecided" schedule for you based on what you think you want to study, the military will be there next year if you really dont like college (or go ROTC, best of both worlds).

Stay away from engineering if you don't want math. Your best bet would be to speak with an adviser about narrowing down your career path.

I go for engineering and 90 percent of people in my major at my school dropped that major because of the math aspect.

You don't need to go into college knowing a major. Take your first semester classes as diverse as you can. Hopefully something will click and you will find something you like. This is the whole point of college. If worst comes to worst you can do a business degree which is widely marketable.

I'm a CIS major specializing in Computer Forensics at Devry University and the only math classes needed for graduation are:
College Algebra
Statistics
Physics

Do what they said. My sister's in law is a counselor at my local CC. I decided to go there to get all the bs out of the way cheap. My advice would be to at least go to a CC for a semester for general studies. Just about every major will need everything that you take your first semester in general studies. If you don't like math, you could do something along the lines of Psychology. Or do something in computers along the lines of networking, you won't use math at all for that. But it takes a very special breed of people to do networking.

Yeah, because you can't join the military and go to college at the same time or anything. There isn't a tuition-free military academy or anything.
