My barrel wont come apart!
Ok so i put my Planet Eclipse Etha together then left it sitting on my bed for like 2 hours. i took the barrel out of the gun and then tried to get the barrel apart. I put it in correctly and i know you have to turn it RIGHT. I CANT GET IT APART. is there like any kind of stuff to put on it or something to get it apart.

Turn it to the left... Hold the back and grab the tip and turn it to the left. And dont tell me I'm wrong because I just did it w my geo3. If that doesn't work run hot water on the barrel, the heat will shrink the o-ring and it might let go

Throw on some latex gloves, and take another shot at it. Make sure you're twisting the barrel the right way, reverse threaded on Eclipse barrels.

Well i tried the hot water thing and the latex gloves. It still isnt comeing apart. Maybe the O-ring fell off and i tightened it too much. oh and one more thing will the barrel get "messed up" if it has water in it. Thanks for the replies, any more ideas?

No, hot water won't harm the barrel. Try shooting it a little, vibrations will loosen it up

Throw it in the freezer for a couple hours. Pull it out and use the gloves again to get a good grip.

planet eclipse uses reverse threaded barrels so instead of "righty tighty" "lefty loosey" its right loose and left tight

Cross threading means you have crossed the threads that are supposed to fit into one another. Basically if you did this, your barrel is f'd.

When you put it together did it thread easily. Did you have a point where it felt tight but wasn't flush. If so you may have cross threaded it. I would freeze it then spray it with a little wd-40 or pb blaster and then use the gloves and try again. May try to put it in a vice wrapped in a towel and then try turning with your hands or a strap wrench.

Freezing allows the metal to draw up (shrink) which may cause the threads to loosen up. And yes wd-40 or pb blaster will wipe right off.

ok so i froze it for an hour and a half and applied wd-40. Is there an O-ring or a separator between the 2 parts because maybe it fell off. i wrapped a towel around the barrel and put it in a vise and tried it and nothing. If i did cross thread it is it possible to get them apart? I mean probably other people have crossed threaded or got it stuck. Thank you to all PLEASE HELP HELP HELP.

I got it apart but something feels wrong. am i supposed to be able to hold the bottom part with my right hand and the top with my left and turn the top left? i thought it was reversed threaded. Again it is an Etha Barrel

Typically there is an o-ring on each of the two parts. One for between the barrel and marker body and the other for in between the two barrel pieces. However, I do not know if the Etha barrel comes this way or not. I have had barrels come without o-rings (which is perfectly fine) but I always add them because they help prevent the barrel pieces from locking up like you have just experienced. If you do this though, make sure you do not use an o-ring that is too large because the excess o-ring material may kink or fold up and possibly cause the pieces to get stuck together.

I can't say since I have not used any PE barrel. Make sure to check the threading on BOTH pieces. There should not be any major damaged areas of the threads and they should all be uniform in spacing and height/depth. If they were cross-threaded, you would see where the damaged ares is, where the spacing between threads differs, the height of the threads has been worn down, and/or possibly where most of the anno has been scratched/ground off. If everything looks normal, I wouldn't worry about whether it is reverse threaded or not, just slap an o-ring on each piece and you're back in action.

O-rings are already on there. but when i connect them the o-ring gets tucked in a weird position and is still hard to get off. would changing them do anything? Thanks to all!

Is this the front and back that came with the marker, or did you buy one seperately?

Or take the orings off and try it without them to see if it really is the orings and not the threads.
