3 hours until Felix Baumgartner tries to free fall and break the sound barrier. I am so excited.

Can you or Jeff log into my computer and find out why I continue to get a pop up saying something about a USB something…

My day is starting off poorly.

If I ever end up in IT I am making damn sure I've got Teamviewer on every computer on the network.

RDP is the way to go on corporate networks. The only problem is that the user tends to try to log back in after I log in via RDP even though I specifically tell them to leave their computer the **** alone until I'm done. As expected, this ****ing wizard just kicked me out.
I've seen a lot of annoying error messages in my day, but this one is the worst by a huge margin:

we use a program in our imaging suite.
Just Remote in with them, do our thing while we're on the phone with 'em and it's hunky dory.
DS Remote Control I think it's called.

I enjoy being right there in front of them so they can watch as I plug in the ethernet cable and I can see their dumbfounded face.

Usually, working on the PC while they're on the phone is viewed as a waste of their time and a distraction to us. Personally, I hate it. Also, RDP prevents them from seeing what we're doing.

Onsite and in person is the best way to go. Just do the Nick Burns-esque "MOVE" command and everything is great. Half the time I can magically fix the problem just by standing there while they try to recreate it.

Most of the time it's an outlook issue, so it's just showing them how to fix something easy.
If it's something major we'll go in person. As far as I know we don't really use it that often.

Looking at that, all I can think is how huge the balls were on the guy who tried it back in 1960.

Chuck Yaeger needed a separate seat on the return flight for his enormous sack.
EDIT: I'm dumb. It's Joe Kittinger, not Chuck YEAger.

Chuck had a serious ballbag, too.

When I saw the balloon nearly go horizontal, I figured they would scrub it. Damn you, wind!

How are you supposed to break the sound barrier? Isn't the terminal velocity of a person far, far below mach1?

Not entirely sure, but I think it's because he'll be so far up that there's less atmosphere. Gives him less drag.

That makes sense. But wouldn't waves of sound also travel faster at those altitudes?
