I thought this event was overall pretty great. Had a few minor problems on field 3 with penalties the first day, but it happens. We were kept busy enough that there wasn't anything I really noticed that was missing. The cleanup crew was doing a great job keeping all of the staging clear.
My main gripe is with field 3, PLEASE get a buzzer next event. If you can't afford a buzzer, go to the dollar store and pick up an air horn, if not then give the head ref a whistle. It's not that hard to find something that can make sound louder and more consistent than having to rely on 3 different refs to call "Game On!" across the field at the same time, which was sketchy at best.

Ya the reffing wasn't that bad... They only made one of the worst calls in PB history and stuck by it.

I thought it was a fun event overall, the scheduling was annoying, but oh well, and I thought it was ridiculous to pay $60 for an ID that didn't get checked once.
My main problem was the refs. Field 1 and 2 were fine, but field 3 was out of control. Almost every game I played on that field the refs lost us the game. For example:
1:They pulled out our 40 dorito player when he didn't even have so much as a bit of rub on him.
2:They pulled a 1 for 1 on a player of ours when he got hit in the pack and he hadn't moved or even pointed his gun at the other team yet, he waited to get checked.
3:When I was left in a 1 on 2, one guy came up and I shot him 5-6 times, turned to go get the other guy and got shot by the player I had already killed. They called me dead and allowed the guy I shot first to run the flag...with hits all over him.
4: I shot the guy in dorito 3 in the left side of his lens, the ref next to him wouldn't check him, he just watched me instead when I was on the opposite side of the field from him. That player proceeded to shoot our few remaining players.

Overall, I had fun at the event. Only thing I had a probem with was refs making ****ty calls, and not knowing the rules/having a lot of experience. Such as calling a dirty hang when someone hung the flag on the wrong side of the field, not what the rule book calls a dirty hang..

Vegas was a great tournament, its just what you make of it.. every team cant win, and bad calls happen. quit *****in,and have fun. its retarded seeing these threads after every event.. meanwhile im pretty sure most teams are actually having a good time at the events.

Curious to see what this is all about.
We had a great time at the event. Scheduling was improved from DC and we had our sets complete in under 3 hours. Venue and weather worked out. No horn on field 3 is the only thing I'd classify as "unacceptable". I'm just confused as to how people expect an event to be run perfectly when the resources ($$) just aren't available from the league's perspective. Everyone at the head of the NPPL played with/owned pro teams when things were big 10 years ago. Don't you think they're aware things could be better? Try doing something productive for paintball instead of just *****ing all day about not getting your free fruit cup.

Its amazing that after every event someone comes out and says..."
beginning of the end". Get over it, Nppl is around and will continue to be around.

This. This. This
had one point where even the reff behind our start gate didnt hear the ten second call and was still talking to us when the other team started shooting. Big cluster ****. A buzzer or something is a must have.

Had one problem with a ref on field 3, dove into snake 2, Thought I might have heard a pack hit, so I asked for a paint check, ref came up to me "Did you feel yourself get hit?" so I said well no, then he just replied "Well you are probably fine then" and walked away, I know it's at the ref's discretion for paint checks, but come on, you don't feel loader/pack hits if you are gonna take the time and effort to walk over and ask me "If I felt a hit" and then walk away, at least check my pack, because the refs were quick to call penalties this weekend, and I agree field 3 needs a better means of starting games, just my 2 cents

lol. hey man, it's better then him calling you out for a shell of paint laying on your pack in the finals, or them calling a 1 on 1 for a pack hit.

i talked to ed on sunday, and he was not very happy. he said that chuck let him go because he was not of use to the nppl anymore. this being my first nppl event i was pretty happy to be there. i was not happy with the fact that they were trying to nickel and dime us. we payed thousands of dollars to play at this national event, and then the ****in nppl is gonna make us pay to sit comfortably to watch our favorite teams. what the **** nppl??? i felt bad for the few teams that traveled halfway across the world. i payed 60 bucks for a shabby ****ing id, they never looked at it, i didnt even get it until sunday. the stands was the most dissapointing thing to me though...did anyone ever see them full?? hell no because they never filled up, way to go nppl you just got money hungry and pissed people off...new turf was horrible...it definitely ruined games for a lot of people. so many changes need to be made before i play nppl again..psp all the way, they still care about the player
